Let's Talk al-Notts Rovers

I think its worth noting the bloke who is buying Forests reputation, owned a club for 13 years and didn't buy anyone and also well known in kuwait for being a tight arse.

It is interesting to see, but I'm happy that they have got the kuwaities... pretty confident it is going to be more venky than mansour!

Red Dawn must be physic as you've had your new owner as your avatar for sometime now haven't you. Bet your on holiday at the end of September when the rams come visit your slum as you know we will beat you again with our bargain basement strikeforce that cost a whopping 200k. Still better than spending millions on miller and Derbyshire

Can't imagine how pissed of you must be with them 2 when your lot paid pretty good fees for them. We got Tyson for free and some people on here are mega pissed off. I suppose the way we are doing business now is we buy for less than half a million if they good we make a good profit and if they **** we don't l

If this deal makes it past due diligence then they deserve all they get

Don't forget that due diligence is where the potential new owners stop listening to the sales pitch and say "OK we're seriously interested so lets have a look under the bonnet"

Do you think they'll like what they find?

Al-Hasawi family will 'do a lot' for Nottingham Forest

The family set to buy Nottingham Forest are very loyal and have a long history of investing in sport, according to a leading Kuwaiti sports journalist.

Mohammed Said, who works for the Al Qabas newspaper and as a television pundit, is in no doubt the Al-Hasawi family will bring success to Forest.

“Mr Fawaz put a lot of money in to Al-Quadisya Sports Club, helping the players and supporting them and sometimes he supported the national team with money”
Mohammed Said Kuwaiti sports journalist

"They are a very famous family in Kuwait and very rich," Said said.

"Fawaz Al-Hasawi is very loyal to all the players and I think he will do a lot for Nottingham Forest."

The Al-Hasawi family have been granted a period of exclusivity to complete the takeover and they will now conduct due diligence in conjunction with the estate and senior management within the club.

And Said is convinced Fawaz Al-Hasawi's track record of investing in sport in his homeland should allay any concerns about his intentions for Forest.

Al-Hasawi had been chairman of Al-Quadisya Sports Club in his native country, but his decision to step down was a precursor to interest in investment within English football.

"This is a very famous and leading club in Kuwait," Said added. "This club specialises in 16 sports and not only football. In football, it was champion of the Kuwaiti league 16 times - 4-5 of them under the control of Mr Fawaz.

"He put a lot of money in this club, helping the players and supporting them and sometimes he supported the national team with money.

"I don't know why it is Nottingham Forest. I think it's an investment deal because Nottingham Forest was a very good football team in the 80s and not now."

Simon Boyes, of the Nottingham Law School, says the club has huge potential and should clear many of its debts with a return to the Premiership.

“They will be looking to see the rights and liabilities that Forest have, the value of the club’s property, and any loans or debts that need repaying.

“Someone will be very carefully going through the books. They might be looking at the value of players to sale, and if the business is worth what they think it is.

Clear debts by promotion, looking at players value to sell? Sounds like not a lot of money going into the club on top of purchase price. Sounds familiar?
