I think it's Derby oprotecting the value of addison tbh. We all know that the value of a player falls dramatically during the lasy year of a player's contract. By extending his contract to 2 yrs outstsanding it makes sure trhat iff Addo goes on loan for 6 months and impresses - and they or someone ele wants to buy _ then he will still comm$and good fee. Same thing really if he comes back to us after the oan. May also be a way to persuade him to accept the f month loan. I think its all mirrors and smoke.
