Ambitious
Not exactly a shock, but good decision none the less. He seems like a footballer that can also talk sense, not only about the game but matters off the pitch! I just hope he can get fit quickly, otherwise we will miss him! p.shilton
I thought he should have been captain last season TBH. I do have 2 quibbles though. He isn't going to be training pre season or fit for the beginning of the season which may be a problem as we need a captain from day 1. Also, what if (and it is a big if) we have the chance to sign a truly great player who would instantly be captain in any champ side but we already have Barks signed up for it?
smiffy
So we will have no Captain on the pitch for the start of next season:rolleyes:
Ambitious
So we will have no Captain on the pitch for the start of next season:rolleyes: There should be 11 captains on that pitch! if there isn't then we're not good enough!!
p.shilton
So we will have no Captain on the pitch for the start of next season:rolleyes: The armband will be on the pitch but I can't think of a current player other than Barks I would want it attached to! It takes more than a bit of elastic saying "captain" on it to make someone a leader!

CumbrianRam
Hopefully he is a better captain than he was at Forest away.
p.shilton
Hopefully he is a better captain than he was at Forest away. he didn't have time to captain, he was too busy picking the ball out the net!
Asanovic
Hopefully he is a better captain than he was at Forest away. I hope everyone is better next season than they were at forest away. Good appointment though, and an obvious choice.
Hucknall Ram
Who do you think will be vice captain?
Asanovic
Who do you think will be vice captain? It may be one of the new boys. If not, I'd like to see John Brayford. He's been the shining light in an otherwise poor season, and has shown maturity beyond his years.
Srg
Obvious, natural step. Not sure on vice captaincy as no one really seems vocal enough, other than Fieldings. Wait and see who comes in.
Alph
Think Brayford is mute though. He seems a very quiet lad. Too quiet for captaincy imo. Top RB though. If Eustace comes he will be the natural choice? The thing i'd hope Nigel is looking for is a natural leader. Whether that be Eustace or Bowyer or whoever he picks...... i don't see much compettition in the leaderships stakes.
Duracell
Fielding's a good shout for vice captain IMO.
p.shilton
He might be Englands first choice the way things are going!
NorfolkRam
Well this is the biggest surprise since Frank Fielding signed for us ....
UTR.93
agreed on the Fielding as another candidate, apart from them 2 then who else in the team would we say would be a good captain? Ward because of his passion shown, Green ?
Srg
Out of current players, other than Fielding, I'd say Green just because he sets the tone. But as he is practically dead, I'd say it will be someone who hasn't yet signed.
