Did a quick check on transfermarkt and sorted the squads by most minutes then looked at top 20 as a sample;

Leicester 23/24 top 20

30-37 years - 5 players

26-29 years - 7 players

20-25 years - 8 players

Highest being 28 year old Harry Winks, then their 26 year old cb Wout Faes, 23 year old GK Hermansen and 31 year old cb Vestergaard.

Southampton 23/24 top 20

30-37 years - 3 players

26-29 years - 8 players

20-25 years - 9 players

Highest being 27 year olds Walker-Peters and Adam Armstrong, then 28 year old Jan Bednarek and 22 year old Harwood-Bellis

Which again backs up the idea that there needs to be a blend of youth and experience in squads, yes we need to sign some players that are young and can develop but there’s also nothing wrong with signing some experience, robustness, and quality in “peak” age players.

The top 20 Leeds players, on the other hand, comprised 4 of 30 and over, 4 of 25 - 29, and 12 under 25.

I think you can spot the reason why they bottled promotion in those very stats.
