He’s the victim of being stuck in a system where we have slow possession (doesn’t suit him) and where he is required to drop deep facing his own goal to play the ball out of defence. It’s not a system that plays to his strengths and as a result he’s made bad mistakes that have probably affected his confidence on the ball. Lucky for him, nor is it a system that appeals to Warne. Good chance though that we’ll more and more play a style of football that suits him.
