Van der MoodHoover
50000 killed must have been traumatic indeed for such a young country. Has remembrance been extended to all wars, as it has in the UK?

Yes it now commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served". I have fond memories of spending an Anzacs day in Australia in the 90's. Its a national holiday and a full day of partying following the remembrance services. All wars mate, my father served in Malaya and Vietnam and marched while he was able but a injury he sustained in Vietnam has slowed him down the last few years.
