Final score at New Lawn - Forest Green 0 Bolton 1, meaning Evatt has now guided Bolton into 3rd & an automatic promotion spot (provisionally as Tranmere still to play today). Was on Sky so decided to check them out.

Evatt set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 with a mobile CF (Eoin Doyle), some pace in behind him (including ex-Villa player Delfouneso), two deep lying midfielders (including ex-Sheff Weds player Kieran Lee, who was very good) & a very solid back 4 with two dominant centre halves (including ex-Blackpool CB Alex Baptiste, who was excellent).

In terms of style, they definitely look to keep the ball and were comfortable either playing it around at the back or switching it from flank to flank. It wasn't merely keepball though & they looked to be proactive by moving it into the front 4 with a mixture of one touch moves through the lines & the odd long pass - unfortunately Doyle wasn't great at holding the ball up & subsequently it came back fairly often. They also had to contend with a decent Forest Green press & did lose the ball on a couple of occasions in their own final third. At half time, Bolton had 55% of the ball - pretty good measure of their credentials as a possession based side considering they were away at a fellow promotion contender.

Doyle won the game for Bolton with a smart finish from a cracking Delfouneso ball just before half time. Second half, Forest Green had plenty of territory but Bolton were very well organised at the back - lot of experience back there & they never looked that flustered or vulnerable.
