I always find the Hen & Chicken and Tobacco Factory on North Street to be nice places to eat and drink though some find them a bit poncey. They sell good beer and food and have a nice vibe. Yes there is a Wetherspoons and it's called Knights Templar. Out of Bristol Temple Meads station and you'll see it 2 minutes walk from the station..
