I watched the game, and Celtic were absolutely dire.

First off, the commentators were making out this was the biggest shock in the world by repeating over and over how Celtic won the European Cup back in the 60s and Lincoln were semi-pro.

Seriously, Celtic aren't European champions anymore. They're a very poor team who only managed to become champions of Scotland because they're playing in a League Two standard league.

Brendan Rodgers set his Celtic side out to play possession-based football, but what he simply hasn't realised is that his team are so bad they struggle to play this sort of football. They're not good enough.

It was like Clement trying to get Derby to play like Real Madrid. You can't get average ball-playing players playing the sort of pass and move football you'd associate with a top Spanish team.

Leigh Griffiths isn't Luis Suarez...

Celtic were dire. They just passed the ball around in-front of a packed Lincoln defensive shape and rarely did they have any joy. Down the wings they were terrible, and through the middle they were snails-paced slow.

I think, aside from Griffiths hitting the bar and Ciftci forcing a header from a save, Celtic offered nothing. Their best player by a mile was Mousa Dembele, a promising youngster from Fulham - shows their level!

The way teams set up defensively these days, "shocks' like these are becoming increasingly more common, especially against a side trying to play possession-based football but lacking in technique (like Iceland vs england).

This game was like a well-drilled conference side beating an average Championship side trying to play Barcelona-type football. Really not that big of a shock.

Celtic would have faired much better playing percentage football, long balls into the corner Burnley style. Burnley would have beaten them easily enough.
