Anyone know whats happened to Abdoul Camara ? MoM against Scunny then ?

Our current manager can not subscribe to the basic proven principle of speed down the wing.  He even tried to take away our right wing threat and played Hanson instead of Christie.

MoM in a game we haven't played?

Oops, good point Srg, against Hartlepool, my memory is getting worse, i had to google it :(

and before anyone says that was against crap opposition, there were at least 10 other derby players on the pitch...

But the question is still the same....  whats happened to him ?

I'd love Ibe back at the club

But I havent really seen Weimann/Camara/Blackman given a real chance so why would we buy Ibe...

We'd have to get rid of said players, and we definately wouldnt break even on any of them

Some of them are going, regardless of whether we're Champ/Prem.

Especially if we're Prem, we're going to want a squad of similar size to the one we have but with a whole load of new players to strengthen it. That means a bunch of players out of the door.

AS you say, we're going to make a loss on most of them.

I feel another thread on who should stay and who should go coming very soon. Might be somewhat different to last time in light of recent player performances. There might actually be someone other than hughsey that people wish to keep!! Lol

Absolutely, should wait to find out which league we're in before starting it though.

No mate, only senior player was bucko which was bizarre for how important the game was and how game time would benefit some like Camara, Blackman Weiman etc

What message does that send to the young players which got you there?

Probaby that as quite a lot of the senior squad have played for the under 21 team this season to help them get where they are but not for that last game that they aren't actually good enough?

Exactly, and we've tried very hard to limit the amount of senior players we've used in the U21 games.

Earlier in the season we had players returning from injury (Buxton, Bryson) and a heavily bloated squad. Plus our U21 side is perfectly capable of winning that game.

Arsenal didn't play any senior players other than Wilshere, and it was arguably a far more "important" game for them than us. We had Hughes (who's U21 and doesnt count technically) and Buxton.

Playing senior players because "the game's important" completely ignores the point of the U21 league - it's not just about winning, it's about giving the youth tangible competitive experience and that means leaving it up to them in important, high pressure situations.

U21s get to the cusp of winning the league pretty much by themselves and then you add seniors in the final game because you don't trust them to finish it? Tsk.

Other than players returning from injury and the outcasts of a bloated squad, usually even then only when the U21s were injured/out on loan, the senior involvement has been actually very limited.

To the first point, clearly not as we lost.

to the second point, if we'd won we'd have won promotion which will improve the academy by attracting better players would it not?

Is it possible for a team who is capable of winning to not win, you do realise this?

Our U21s were perfectly capable of winning the game, they had some off days and one of our best players in Zanzala got injured in the first half.

We could still win promotion, also.

On the note of attraction, not sure it would be a huge increase in attractiveness tbh.

It's just all round a much better option to let the U21s get on with it.
