The vast fortunes brought in for promotion to the premier league, together with the parachute payments, seem to have been lent, interest-free, to other non-football related Oyston companies. That's what's upsetting people.

Seems very Maxwellian to me.

If if isn't a fact, nice save.

Im not sure there is anything anyone can do. Its their club I guess they can do what they want.

If i won say 120 million on the euromillions, and decided to buy forest. Im pretty sure i would pass the fit and proper persons test, then what would stop me slowly running the club into the ground? Yeah i wouldnt be popular but if i was so minded and thick skinned enough then what would stop me?

Note: I havent won the euromillions, i did recently win £25 on a scratchcard and thought about it, but on reflection i decided i didnt want to invest over 50% of my winnings in a football club.

No, it's a fact - as reported by the Guardian in August 2014...

"There is no mystery as to where Blackpool’s money has gone: cash has left the club in a series of entirely legal loans through the holding company, Segesta Ltd. Segesta’s debt to Blackpool is now £23.71m and it, in turn, has distributed loans to a network of companies controlled by the Oyston family.

"Zabaxe Ltd, a company wholly owned by Karl’s father, the former chairman – and convicted rapist – Owen Oyston and his wife Vicki, received an interest-free £11.5m. In Blackpool’s financial accounts for 2012-13, remuneration for the highest paid director, believed to be either Karl or Owen Oyston, jumped from £65,000 the year before to £568,000, which is £58,000 more than the club spent on transfers that season."

Quite true. Owen Oyston probably wouldn't pass the fit and proper persons test now as a convicted rapist, but of course it is not applied retrospectively.

Probably after the others demanded an extra £10 a week for the captaincy. Or maybe after being told they'd have to buy their own armband.

Just wrap one of those rolls of turf around their arm.

(Blackpool are having to re-lay a huge part of their pitch days before the start of the season because they staged a Neil Diamond concert on it a fortnight ago)

Really? It looked like their pitch last season had staged hundreds american football games, I'm genuinely impressed they've decided to relay it for this season.

DIdn't think that through then did they

Oh, I'm sure that Karl Oyston thought it through perfectly well. It went something along the lines of "Ker-chinggg!!!"

I was sitting outside my B&B this morning, wearing my Derby shirt when a chap stopped for a chat. I didn't know him, but I know of him - it transpired that he was recently defamed by one of the Oystons, sued and won.

Anyway, he asked me to pass on his best wishes to all Derby fans, and his appreciation to all those who chanted anti-Oyston stuff at the iPro last season. Little shows of support do help - sooner or later Blackpool FC will be returned to those that matter. Let's hope it's sooner, for football's sake.

Did the guy get sued or won the appeal?

He he the one who had his fine paid by other people?

also was it a 5 star b&b?

No, he is a croupier who worked at a local casino (the one right next to Blackpool's ground). He left, and a some time later Samuel Oyston made insinuations on Twitter (subsequently proved to be completely untrue) that the reason he had left was because of dishonesty. Now if such an allegation sticks in the gaming industry, you are dead meat, finished, and you will never get another job there, even sweeping up. A single hashtag cost Oyston £20 grand.
