You have his fanboys and the United fans to make up the numbers, and then the fact he's all about power and speed. Messi will last longer and will adapt his game. I won't deny Ronaldo's been better the past couple of seasons but overall, Messi's a better player for his team. People slagged him off in the WC but he was the one coming deep and making things happen, rather than searching for glory himself. Ronaldo wouldn't know a thing about that. Messu has already started to adpat this season. He's more versatile, can use both feet and his head to score and the amount of goals he's got this season is ridiculous. I hated him with a passion the first few years at Manure but now he's matured and worked on his game he can be unplayable at times. Messi is an incredible player but he's had the advantage of playing with some incredible players in Xavi, Iniesta, Villa etc. It's a mute point anyway, Zidane concurs all!!! Ronaldo is an astonishing goal scorer, and if there is any player you want one on one with the goalkeeper it's probably him. But his goals are what people look at, not his genera play. Messi and Ronaldo are different players because nobody picks up on Messi's team play and the fact over the past two seasons he has played in a weaker Barcelona side than Real Madrid. Ronaldo - 15 goals in 7 La Liga games must mean he's the best etc. etc. Messi - 7 goals in 8 La Liga games must mean he's not as good right? Well Ronaldo has created just 14 chances this season for his teammates, whereas Messi has created 31. Messi has adapted his game to be more of a creator now that Xavi has gone, and I think Barcelona are better for it. He plays centrally, he's got to break through numerous players and you can see he's far more of a team player. Ronaldo on the other hand is just a ruthless goalscorer, plays on the wing and will get on the end of crosses or completely dominate a rightback by going one on one with him and beating him over and over. Fact is Ronaldo has done absolutely zilch on the international stage, whereas Messi practically carried an underachieving Argentina to the final of the World Cup.
