Curtains
Hanson will not let Derby down even if he starts against Rotherham . He's a tenacious player and is extremely fit. I'm not worried at all about this lads ability.
Ram a lamb a ding dong
Eustace WILL start unless we get a.n.other in between now and Rotherham. Hanson MAY be on the bench. He MAY get a start against Carlisle but more than likely will be on bench and if we are doing ok will get 30 mins later on. This is what I would do. No question. We need to get off to a flyer. Unless the lad is flying you dont play him. On the flip side if in training he is standing out he MAY get a sniff.
Curtains
Your overrating Eustace he's getting on a bit you know . He can't get around the park like he used to that why we signed Thorne. Hansen deserves a chance don't dismiss him. Hughes was only young when he came in. Eustace WILL start unless we get a.n.other in between now and Rotherham. Hanson MAY be on the bench. ramblur
It's interesting that Hanson has become a better player since Thorne got injured. I don't think anyone's suggesting the ability of the lad has changed since Thorne's injury, merely that a window of opportunity has opened to at least give the lad a chance. Curtains
Let's just see what his ability is then shall we when he plays for the First team I think a few people will be surprised.

Hughes, Hendrick and Bennett only got a run out when we were mid table squaller. Now we are one of the big boys you are less likely to throw a lad in to see how he gets on. We have to hit ground running a la Burnley last season.

Nobody knows I suggest how well he will do though so let's back the lad because I doubt we can go out and get another 2 million pound player for the DM role
ramblur
I am suggesting people's perception of his ability has changed somewhat. Don't particularly agree with that either.Just because some want him to be given a chance doesn't imply that they somehow think he's got better. You only have to look at the nonchalant ease with which he executed the skill in the video Curtains put up to realise the lad has ability. The only way you'll find out if he has the concentration, determination and mental strength needed to go with such ability is by giving him a chance. No campaign was ever won or lost over the first few games of a season. This is always the silly time of year which has seen Carlisle proudly sit at the top of the pyramid. We could easily bring in a DM and not get promotion, and possibly pass up the chance of unearthing a very good understudy to George for when he returns. Ram a lamb a ding dong
I am suggesting people's perception of his ability has changed somewhat. Relative at the FA knows Josh Lelan and Hanson. Both are very highly rated. Josh can make it if he manages to curb a tendency to switch of momentarily. Loan at Swindon proves thisas they are only one rung below us. I wouls suggest Anson get a loan fora month or 2 to see how he gets on.
Uptherams
What are people so concerned about with Hanson. He is fit enough. He knows how to defend. Considering he is a set piece specialist he can pass and distribute the ball aswell as contribute with set pieces. He is not the last line of defense. Yes he lacks experience, but surely compared to Eustace he comes out equal or just on top when we consider both their positives and negatives. By all means bed Hanson in gently. He's not even got on the pitch yet, let alone start the season as first choice CDM. madness....... You bring him on as sub a couple of times, last 10 or 15 mins and see how he settles.
Ram a lamb a ding dong
Hanson will not go on loan we need him . We'll see i prefer my approach above to bring him off bench a couple of times if appropriate. If he shows up, great. If not, send out on loan. A loan is a means to gain experience. Throwing a kid in deep end too soon could do him more harm than good. Macca sees him day to day. He will be able to gauge his temperament.

If we go with the Eustace/Hanson option, then it's quite likely Hanson might start the odd game because it's unlikely Eustace could start 3 games in a week. DCFC_17
why cant we just stick hughes there, he was the most prolific tackler last season and he can play
AmericanRam
I like how are fixtures are set up to get some good, quality points early on.However, even Rotherham has improved somewhat For us to get an auto or at least make playoffs have to bring it every game. That should be the mentality in every sport tbh.I would feel comfortable with Hanson playing some heavy minutes. cannable
I've never seen him play myself but he's supposedly very classy, very intelligent. Stick him in it. Classy players are usually fine unless they get completely outmuscled (which being a centre half he shouldn't). It's physical players that will require a loan or two, in order to learn how to use their pace or strength, whatever it may be.
