In windows the F keys do different things

Alt + F4 closes the window your on. That kind of thing.

Think your only option is to cut and paste or get a USB keyboard when you need English.

Simple question, but I've got a Mexican laptop (assume it's the same as American) and I have no idea how to make the pound sign.

I want to use it on Microsoft Word

I know that the Euro Sign is CTRL + ALT + E which is very simple.

But I've read about the pound sign and none of the following work...

ALT + 0163

ALT + whatever...

And none of them work...

When typing the Alt + 0163, make sure that you have Num Lock on (if you are using a numeric keypad).

Holding alt, typing 0163 then releasing should work, so long as you have a numberpad.

So what you're saying Bris is you've finally realised that quoting figures in $ when you mean

Ok I downloaded it, but it's just a blank archive... It asks how I want to open it, or with what programme. What do I choose?

It's a rar file, so you'd need winrar.

Here it is as a normal folder: Download

You should download them all to the same location.
