On the OS Sam Rush's programme notes state that next season all weekend games will be at 3.00 on Saturday unless selected for television. No more Friday night games! Good decision.

The club should be doing everything it can for the fans except for the rare occasion that we're on the tele, which will be increasingly uncommon the way things are going.

I dunno, is always good entertainment for some TV chiefs to see the cannon fodder get thrashed infront of a national tv audience :)

Here's Chief Executive Sam Rush's programme notes from The Ram for Saturday's game with Leicester City.

Good evening and welcome to Pride Park Stadium on behalf of everybody from Derby County for our npower Championship game against our East Midlands rivals Leicester City.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome the staff, players and fans of our visitors for a game that has the added spice of being broadcast live by Sky Sports.

It is good to be back at Pride Park this week as we have enjoyed an extremely successful season at home.

While we have experienced some less rewarding results in recent weeks, the performances of the team have still been good and, with the age of the side, that bodes very well for the future.

We, as supporters and all connected with Derby County, now need to dig deep and make as big a contribution as we can to the success of this club over the coming weeks.

I strongly believe that with adversity comes an opportunity and we at Derby can demonstrate that we are a proud club and one that has a huge number of attributes that are coveted by many others in football.  By sticking together we will show why Derby County is great.

To this end, I was delighted that more than 4,000 supporters were able to enjoy the superb FA Youth Cup Quarter Final against Chelsea last week. While, on the night, victory was not ours we acquitted ourselves quite magnificently and all present left the stadium uplifted by the occasion.

We have some hugely talented young players aware that they are at a club that values them and will provide an unrivalled platform for their progress. That is something to be very proud of and we should be in no doubt that this club and its future is much the better for it.

Off the field, life continues at a pace and we hosted a Fans Forum to discuss club branding and in particular the club crest recently.  The unanimous view was that we should get back to basics and we will be doing just that as we embrace the traditional ram as central to our identity going forward.

On the theme of tradition, I can also confirm that while Friday night games have proved popular with some supporters, the vast majority favour the traditional Saturday games and from next season our weekend games will be reverting to 3pm on Saturday unless the game is selected for television.

Back to today’s game – please make plenty of noise and thank you as ever for your support.

Up the Rams!

Rush means dig deep in your pockets and buy as much crap official Rams merchandise as you can and renew your season ticket or buy a new one if you don't already have one
