Igors unfinished business?

Did you ever watch him do his warm ups before a game?????? he did them on his own because he was an arrogant ******* and was only at Derby for the money he was getting, trust me, no love for Derby or his fellow players whats so ever....no cobblers here, but you might find some around Derby Guildhall 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sleep' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='-_-' />

When you are as good as he was you can afford to be arrogant!

Most footballers are in the game for money, isn't that why most people go to work?

I don't know too many people that get on like a house on fire with all of their colleagues.

If he only wanted the money he wouldn't have come to Derby now would he!!! I'm sure we were not the highest payers in Jim Smiths day

Rams fans are very discerning - which is why we gave Player of the Season to Dean Yates instead of Igor.

He covered for Igors self indulgence

My favourite Igor moment was at Arsenal when he made sure everyone was running forward then chopped Paul Merson across the throat in front of us. Naughty !!

No love for Derby?

he clearly must have some special feeling towards us..

I think your getting mixed up with my comments about Asanovic and not Igor my freind. I did not like Asanovic thought he was a arragont pig and although a good player(not great) i dont think he was liked nuch in the dressing room.

Possibly, sorry for that. Although Asanovic was an incredible player he did not seem to interact with fans as much as Igor did. Igor even made his mark on first day by driving on the wrong side of the road 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Yeh no problem, I think Asanovic was a very very good player, but arrogant with it, but as one poster said most good footballers are arrogant it goes with the territory i suppose. COYRS

I would absolutely love Igor to come back.

I really do believe he has all the attributes to be a top manager; played across Europe, played in major tournaments, charismatic and a leader.

Doubt it'll ever happen, hell be off to a top European job if he succeeds for the national team.

Maybe it's just my rose tinted specs again but I reckon that most former Derby players remember their days at the Rams with fondness.

A lot of the great players of the past (long ago and more recent) seem to get a good reception when they come to the ground.

It can't be easy for any player to be among others who deliberately choose not to speak to him just because they don't speak a word of each others language! 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

A lot of clubs are a great deal more cosmopolitan than Derby will ever be.

Unless there is some long-term grievance, most former Rams are well received back on the field of play.

Compare that to the travelling Man City fans who did nothing at the BBG but chant "City Reject!" at the great Francis Lee, arguably one of their most legendary players. He responded by scoring the winning goal for Derby that day. 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

Igor was great as a Rams player and how anyone can allege that he has no love for Derby is beyond me.

Igor has a huge amount of love for Derby County, and for Derby County fans.

When Rams fan John Foster was taken ill in Croatia last year, who was it who travelled 100 miles to visit him in hospital AND helped to arrange flights back to England for Mr Foster?

http://www.croatiantimes.com/news/Sports/2013-03-11/32435/Fans_want_Igor_Stimac_back_to_Derby_County

Derby County football fans in the UK have besieged Igor Stimac’s Facebook page, demanding he return to England.

The Croatian national football team coach who used to place as a defender for Derby County during the 90s has been inundated with fans’ requests for him to go back to the club as its coach.

With messages such as "Igor, come home" fans say they hope the 45 -year-old will return to the club after he leads Croatia to World Cup victory in Brazil.

The fans will return in numbers if Stimac was hired, fact.

Probably right, just goes to show how fickle some are.

It would probably be the same fans who say we shouldn't have hired Clough just because of his surname.

What has he done in his managerial career that would make him such a good appointment?

Rowett's interview:

"You've got to judge Nigel Clough on the players and the resources he's had at his disposal.

"If you do, I think the conclusion is that he's doing brilliantly. He's doing a great job."

"Derby is a big club and I think, because of that, there's an expectancy that they should be in the top six," he said.

"But that is not realistic because it's not a level playing field.

Does he mean we have utter **** players on our books?

Can`t argue with him. All these players were signed by Clough though,

I just went on his FB page - went back a week and saw 6 comments asking him to come back, the vast majority were in croatian so am assuming they are not from Derby fans - its hardly been "besieged"

That said I would love him back in some capacity - even if it was just Croatia playing a friendly at PP.

He was an arrogant so and so though (I see it as a plus in this case) I'm surprised he hasn't picked himself for the national team
