It is with great regret I announce the passing of John Richardson who was one of Derby County's greatest fans, John died last night.

He started supporting the Rams from a very early age, possibly aged 1 day old as his mother was a fervent Rams supporter, many will have come across him on the DET, SSA and DLF sites, usually under the pseudonym of 'The Ram', he was at the forefront of the action as the Rams Protest Group helped oust the Parasitic Trio and I was proud to stand alongside him.

My thoughts are with Maggie and his daughters at this sad time.

R.I.P. John, you were a good friend and I'm missing you already.

After going back through the drunk thread it's comes as no surprise that he's fell off the perch, some comedy gold in that thread from him.

Whoever banned him, hang your head in shame, a forum legend was denied the right to tell us how he pissed he was.

Enjoyed reading his posts, sad times.

RIP John, I remember his posts, good craic. Must've only been in his mid to late 50's if I remember correctly, condolences to his family and friends.

There was much more to John than just the inebriated ramblings about the merits of ale/cider and Bubbles Massage Parlour, he helped to organise the pre-match parading of the Big Flag when the YKW cocked up, he had a BBC TV [East Midlands] interview in his house when the RPG were upping the efforts to oust the Parasitic Trio, he was a proud father of three daughters who were taught that supporting Derby County was a part of their lives, his youngest, Katie, and I were privileged to be asked to lay the symbolic wreath at the base of the Pride Park flagmast on behalf of the RPG.

When in his company the talk often got round to his exploits in the DLF, the running battles with the DYS, Millwall and those inferior beings from the other end of Brian Clough Way, he also had one of the finest collections of vinyl albums I have ever seen and his love for music was evident when he took the microphone at karaoke sessions and delighted many with his singing ability.

The chanting of his name on Saturday would be a tribute to a true Rams fan, there was ONLY ONE BIG JOHN.

Such sad news! "Richo" was a Top Bloke.

I often travelled with him to away games back in the Eighties. The one game that sticks in my mind was the Plymouth Cup Tie in 1984, John had mislaid his scarf so he took one of his 1971-2 League Champions commerative tea towels instead which he kept waving at passing Plymouth fans from the back of the Atwal Van Hire mini-bus we were travelling in!!!

RIP Big Man, I will be raising a glass to your memory before the game on Saturday
