Peterborough United v Derby County

I don't think we played dire, a few players had dire afternoons but as a team we were ok, just ineffective. Struggled to break down a very poor side, no excuses. The hoofing played into their hands.

Someone said it wasn't a wonder goal because we didn't clear it far enough? Whilst I agree it was a poor clearance that Bostwick won't score another one of those again, perfect hit, the only place it could have gone. It was a great goal.

My only gripe is we need someone who can pop up with something similar, we don't seem to have anyone who can create something out of nothing at the moment.

As for Jacobs EKR I disagree, I think he does get by his man enough. That "shimmy" and drop of the shoulder first half was brilliant, took 2 players out the game. He's got bags of ability, I like him because he's positive. He's not much kop defending but more than good enough going forward. I thought we lost our edge going forward when he went off. That's just me mind.

Disappointing score line but let's not dwell on it too much - as people have mentioned our goal is championship survival we're still mid table and don't look in any danger.

People who expect us to be in the play offs need to tone it down, when was the last time you saw a ford fiesta beat a Lamborghini in a drag race? Doesn't happen... We're the ford fiesta, we're better than Peterborough and we will finish above them IMO its just one of those things.

All comes down to money - we ain't spending, the players as hard as they try just aren't strong enough... So we just need to be realistic - a poor performance but on the whole still clear from the dog fight and looking for a home win next saturday!

Bad performance on Saturday you can't hide from that. But in terms of getting on the players backs and the managers backs I think that's a bit drastic. I personally felt on saturday barring the Lego penalty save it was just one of those days where everything that could go wrong did go wrong. It wasn't a great performance all around and we missed key players such as Bryson and Ward. I felt Hendrick felt the pressure of being the experienced member of the centre midfield with Will. I get the feeling Bryson acts as a father figure on the pitch to Will and is there to put him right and help him. I think Jeff was probably told to do the same and therfore forgot about his own game slightly?. I thought the substitutions were the only mark against Clough's name. Maybe Tyson should of been on sooner, I didn't feel Jacobs should of come off as he looked a threat. But overall i think it's just one of those games that you just have to accept was a bad day at the office and move on. If we get maximum points off Blackpool and Barnsley then it will be like the Peterborough game never happened.

Guys, why all the negativity?

This is all part of the plan. Championship survival - thats the ambition of this club.

Not 1 person in the squad is better than that, and the manager... well I wont go there!!

But thats all this club wants, anything better is too expensive.

So we will win a few, draw a few and lose a few. (just like the last 3 games)

It wont be pretty, or exciting, and probably a bit scrappy.

So all you nigel lovers, you should be pretty happy. It wont get any better than this.

We wont be involved in a relegation battle, nor will we mount a challenge for promotion.

But lets not forget, this is all part of the plan.

And it will be next year, and the year after too!!

If you want to see progress, have a look at the top 2 or 3 sides currently in league 1,

Because in a couple of years, they will be above us.

This is like a school kid has been asked to write a poem and after hours of whinging and moaning, the teacher finally gives in and let's him write it about football. I love the damning finale. A triumph. See me.
