  1. They failed to mention the penalty Portsmouth were denied just before their penalty appeal, Player pulled down by the front of his shirt something you see at the rush on new years day sales โ˜บ๏ธ
  2. Absolutely pleased for all who were there today, I saw the team sheet as usual and was ecstatic that Sonny Bradley was picked I think I'm the only poster on here that has been 100% behind Sonny, What a player ๐Ÿ˜ At Belper which is the norm but most of us were following the game on tinternet, Scores coming through quicker than Ceefax, Results went our way so all's well...made up for all of you...๐Ÿ˜Š The game at Belper was witnessed by all supporters who saw one of the most inept referee/linesman performances on this planet, Belper lost 5-0 there were 3 sending's off 12/15 bookings...we lost count actually...I've watched 1000s of games in my lifetime this official sunk to the depths of the earths core ๐Ÿ™„ 2 games to go and it's back in our...
  3. I asked a question on the injury thread concerning players in the 60s n 70s not getting the injuries that todays players got, I received a good response from @roboto...below Itโ€™s more to do with the level these athletes are playing at these days and the toll it takes on the body. To get to the peak of physical fitness can often put you at a breaking point where you push your body beyond its comfort zone too often, leading to more muscle strain/tear injuries. Plus with modern physios and doctors checking in on players regularly, these problems are identified much more regularly than they used to be. Im not saying players from back in the day werenโ€™t skilful, but the game was different physically and training wasnโ€™t as intense as it is these days. This meant there were more rest and recovery periods for players compared to todays daily schedule for professional squads.
  4. Just going to pop this link in here https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68797925 Rodri @ Man City says he's to tired to play, Pep says then he wont play as too many games. We have had our fare share of injuries...do we in todays game play to many games for a club to suffer so many injuries...circa 50+ Way back in my day 60s n 70s players smoked, Drank ate a full English played on potato fields and didn't get the injuries we see today, Todays players are fitter, Leaner, Healthier, Play on pitches that you could play bowls on and are getting injuries that we never knew were in our legs ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
  5. Wow that's some distance away, 1 light year is 6 trillion miles. The explosion was detected by telescopes in October 2022. It came from a distant galaxy 2.4 billion light-years away, https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-68787534
  6. Wow that's just bat sh!t crazy, Folks will be thinking shall I buy another ST when I already pay for Sky ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
  7. Liam was close, Closer than you think" quote from David Clowes โ˜บ๏ธ
  8. I sat watching Swansea Vs Stoke but following the game on here, I'm not a good TV viewer where DCFC are concerned...I get to involved and a little pi**ed off, My heart was racing towards the end of our game thinking were going to lose...so to get a point...I had a good nights kip. Like you I'll be over the Moon with promotion, The Summer will be great knowing league 1 can go and fcuk it's self...altho it's not in our hands I'm still confident Bolton/Peterboro will come unstuck, Oxford have lots to play for against Boro and Portsmouth can win league 1 away at Bolton. Then the big one Peterboro Vs Bolton last game of the season, We know what's needed and so do all at DCFC...over to you at Moor Farm ๐Ÿ‘
  9. I've had passes like that on a Sunday Morning/Afternoon all over Derby parks, On pitches that potatoes would feel at home at and still scored. Sending one at knee height to a player that's in open field makes no difference, Why, Because you said in a previous post "All said and done youโ€™d expect CBT to score"
  10. Bravo Mrs Bat ๐Ÿ‘ In the match thread there's a few posts where posters watched the WW tv broadcast and they said that the 2 commentators were very complimentary about DCFCs performance. That's the difference between us and others in this division, I believe this division is poor, I believe the players we have have underperformed, But other teams fans believe we are very good...all down to what you've been watching and what you're expecting I guess.
  11. Guilty as charged ๐Ÿ˜
  12. Would it have been better if the ball was on a plate and delivered by a waiter. CBT is a pro footballer, Most likely since a child he's learned how to control a ball, Whether at pace or coming out of the sky with snow on it, The ball fell to CBT it was an open goal he fluffed it, Scuffed it call it what you like. I find it extraordinary that posters are saying Washingtons ball was the fault, Then saying he should have scored ๐Ÿ™„
  13. There was nowt wrong with the pass...imo, It found it's target...CBT, He was unable to do what in 99% of the time he would score...imo, I saw Roger Davis miss an even easier at Stamford Bridge decades ago, It happens, But what makes it look bad is that we drew, But even if he'd had scored it was no guarantee of a win.
  14. Why would any footballer want to control the ball with the goal only a couple of feet away and empty? CBT just fluffed a great opportunity, I fear that miss will hang heavy on the player ๐Ÿ˜‰
  15. Highlights if anyone wants to see how to miss an open goal ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  16. Half the players will be out of the door if we stay down ๐Ÿ‘
  17. Watched the highlights, Wow what a miss from CBT ๐Ÿ˜ฎ I usually look for an excuse for a player to miss an open goal...yes an open goal, The pitch looked great, The ball arrived at his feet with pace, Body looked perfect yet he contrived to put it wide ๐Ÿ™„ CBT mentioned in his post match presser that training was a little different but PW lets him play his own game ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธor summat to that effect, He said all was good in the changing room, He knew a lot of the players, All welcomed him and he's not left out in the banter stakes...so what's the issue, If I knew that I'd be a phycologist. His strength is his strength and pace that's what defenders hate, He drove at Portsmouth's players for our 1st goal at Pompey, Last night he shifted into the area like the wind...but ๐Ÿ‘Ž You could be right Jourdan...confidence ๐Ÿ‘Œ
  18. Cleethorpes Vs Belper tonight if it's still on? re arranged game after pitch waterlogged Belper Vs Cleethorpes on Saturday...I'll be there, 3 days of dry weather promised ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  19. Gypsies were kicked off the land that became the Baseball Ground, A Gypsies curse was put on Derby County that they would never win the FA Cup...3 attempts later 2 in the 1890s and one in 1903 being a 0-6 defeat to Bury and things were looking grim. Move on to 1946 and those at DCFC seek out a Gypsy, They ask for the curse to be lifted, The resulting curse evaporated with a 4-1 win aet against Charlton Athletic. Nope I don't believe in curses either ๐Ÿ˜
