The same Marriott who wasn't fit and did those in games off the bench in games where the script directed the way it was going, not trying to influence it from the start. Jack Marriott was a 1 in 6 striker with us, and has roughly been the same since at lower levels. He was not Ronaldo. Apart from maybe in weight of the original. Lampard was a terrible manager who couldn't do a thing without Mason Mount playing well. He vanished at Wembley. Villa had a much better team than us, despite Tomori etc. Without naming their whole team they had Tyrone Mings who's been good in the Prem and got into England squads, McGinn who plays weekly as they've got into the Champions League, Hourihane in his prime, £100m Jack Grealish, Tammy Abraham who scored regularly for Roma... and that's without naming other quality like El Mohammady, Tuanzebe, El Ghazi or Kodjia. Just a vastly better squad.
  2. You'd get 9 assists playing in a team which scores so many from corners when you take every single one of them. Stats are nothing without context. Legs have gone, he was a liability. We improved immensely when Warne finally realised it.
  3. His corners are no better than Sibley, Ward or even Elder. He's not worth it.
  4. John Eustace was s**** and Omar Mascarell was 10x the player. Robbie Savage single handedly ruined James Bailey's career. For 1 month, we had the most elite strikeforce the club has ever seen in Junior and Mat Svensson. John Brayford left us as the best right back in the Championship for the Premier League. Having failed, he dropped to Nigel Clough in League One rather than return to the Championship. He wasted his entire career following Clough around like a lost puppy. Tom Ince wasn't lazy, he just was tasked with doing different things to Ward/Russell - including playing 90 mins rather than getting subbed off after 60/70min.

So? Villa were 2 up at that point, defending and getting nervy. You can't take that time and extrapolate it as a given that it would have been like that from minute 1.

Nope. By far the better team and squad. A half fit Jack Marriott wasn’t changing a damn thing. We didn’t leave the second coming of Pele on the bench, his career has showed everyone that.

  9. Max Lowe is injured more than the players we already have.
  10. Not quite the right age as he will be 30 as the season starts, but would be great to cover so many positions. He is a Derby fan I believe despite his past so maybe he could fancy it.
  11. Think he would have gone a couple of years ago if he was going to. He’s now 27. Not the age you want to make a gamble on.
  12. And to be fair to you, that suggestion is as bad as this one.
  13. It's classic click farming stuff from the DerbyshireLive. I don't blame them for it, but this is how rumours start where there isn't any. Suddenly he will sign somewhere else and you'll have some fans claiming we missed out on a target and alike.
  14. Did he actually say that? i watched the interview but can't remember verbatim so he may well have done, but I just remember him saying about speaking to them when they've returned from Vegas and didn't commit to last week? We as fans knew when they returned, so put 2 and 2 together.
  15. Have you read it? It says he was linked last summer, this is just telling you he's been released. There's no link to us this summer, as I said.
  16. Feels like it should be locked. There is no link this summer to us.
  17. Ross Barkley was 29 when he signed for Luton. Lallana is 36.
  18. You’d let him go on a free to anyone who wants him (like I would a few others) or hope he knows it’s time and retires.
  19. No, look at retained lists of every other club. Those players would just be filed as Contract Offered.
  20. He was only like 21 at the time. Don't think it's indicative of much.
  21. Joined Oxford when our recruitment man would've been there too, didn't he?

    Paul Warne

It's horrible, shame really because that article from Leigh Curtis is good.
  23. Do they? I know Twitter isn't the voice of reason, but the whole thing calls for conspiracy theory on every minute thing. If your idea of accepting it is just whataboutism with regards to every other rule breaker, than maybe. Fundamentally, Forest vastly underperformed. They were, understandably, expecting midtable this season with the teams being promoted being so poor - and that's before it became obvious Burnley would be horrendous, because that was slightly more surprising than the other two. The owner removed his shield in sacking Cooper to get his yes man, things have barely improved if at all. Think you'd have achieved survival just the same with Cooper. Then between all the controversy, season ticket debacle and now stadium nonsense, the trust has been eroded back to where it was before he captured lightning in a bottle with the Cooper hiring. Everyone wants to be in the top league, of course they do, but the Forest fans I know aren't under any illusion that the reality of knowing full well how much you're going to lose and when you finally get good players, you know they'll be gone quickly, isn't actually that much fun.
  24. That transfer hasn't happened yet.
  25. It's bizarre because he's not exactly been incredible for Hamburg. Didn't get them out of the 2nd Division which isn't great for a club that size. He's 48, too, so not like a brand new manager to the game.
