What has Vickers conceded so far that Wildsmith would have saved? I do want Wildsmith back in - mainly because I think he instils more confidence in Nelson/Cashin but Vickers hasn’t cost us any goals in my opinion.

Remember reading a few weeks a go about him - Newport have turned down multiple offers. Didn't know his contract was up this summer. Definitely another one who looks like he could easily make the step up. Played more like a number ten as well rather than an out and out striker.

Wilson has not jumped ahead of him. Nyambe will be straight back in. Question is - will Wilson stay on the RW with NML or will Wilson drop to the bench. NML is way more effective out wide and assuming CBT is always on the left, we have our wingers. We are desperate for a 10 or a creative attacking midfielder. Honestly even if Collins is poor - what is NML up front and TJJ on a wing going to offer you that’s better? We need two more players - a midfielder and a striker if we want any serious chance of top two.

TJJ injured? There’s a surprise - doesn’t really add anything anyway. Still have no idea what he is. Never gets played as a striker. Poor winger. Awful recruitment.

The structure of this deal suggests two things: 1) We wont see any signings of other players for fees so forget many of the links we’ve seen with younger promising players. 2) The Knight sale all disappeared to Poznan - we mostly knew this but it’s confirmed by this. 3) We’re still under a restriction of some type even though we all thought we were not.

And if he is earning £12-£14k a week he won’t give that up. This is his last decent pay check of which he has six months left. Set a deadline, a final offer, move onto others.

I am more curious to know if he’s registered for tomorrow night.
