  1. Now Forest look to be staying up due to the incompetence of others, will Harry Arter be getting a new contract extension?
  2. Oh dear - popped outside to do a bit of weeding and planting and come back in to an innings defeat. I was only outside for an hour!
  3. I was hoping for more away days next season with increased ground capacities but these numbers are really low. Looks like Preston and Blackburn for those members with under 5 away games. Disappointing. I wouldn’t mind if any of those clubs could fill their own grounds. It might not be worth buying membership to be honest of these allocations are correct
  4. The second one was the one I was thinking of. Great tackle. 😂 I think nowadays the recipient would be down for about a fortnight.
  5. I think you are right. I think there was one particular challenge that was pretty…agricultural shall we say … which McMahon rightly got a bit annoyed about. He was always quite happy dishing it out though so did him.
  6. Was that the first game of the season on TV? Barker hadn’t trained at all and stepped in and was perfect, if memory serves me right.
  7. ‘Not only made me a better player but also a better person’ … I don’t have the words. I will stick with. Nelson and Cashin thanks.
  8. Loved Bruce’s equaliser against Liverpool. They spent most of the game passing it back to the goalkeeper (who could pick it up in those days kids) leading to much infuriation. Celebrated that goal like a demented banshee. They became terrified of losing the record. If they had just gone for us they would probably have won 4-0. I can still picture that goal to this day. One of my favourite ever in what was effectively a meaningless game for us.
  9. I wonder who got the one saying the number of minutes missed due to going early/drinking pints during the game/forgetting you were there to watch a football match. I don’t know how they did it but mine calculated 1578 minutes of moaning about footballers not being able to kick it with both feet. Great email - nice touch. I wonder if Forest get one calculating number of incorrect VAR decisions made? If I were them, I simply wouldn’t accept it.
  10. Will our players have sobered up by the 9th of August?
  11. Vegas is going to be messy isn’t it.
  12. Attention Leeds Fans - send us your favourite play-off memories!
  13. Yes I do remember that. Steve Cross came on like a man possessed even though the game was lost. I don’t remember the whale though.
  14. Does anyone remember a game at the BBG in the early 80s - midweek, probably a Wednesday- not too many there, about 10,000, possibly against Shrewsbury but maybe not…however there was a big storm with wind howling around the Ley Stand. The big metal loudspeakers which used to hang down from the top of the stand were blowing all over the place. It was mad because they were huge big chunks of metal. People underneath them were moved then one came loose from its cable, falling and destroying multiple seats-smashing them to pieces. If anyone had been sitting underneath they would have been killed instantly. Always stayed with me that one. If we hadn’t been completely crap for years and had a full house people would have died. Tommy Docherty inadvertently helped save the lives of a few people that day.
  15. Beating Yeovil isn’t for everyone though is it.
  16. It was a great moment. Just after we had heard that Portsmouth were losing as well. Scoring goals for Derby, Phillip Gee, Phillip Gee …
  17. Stuff like that is what we will miss about League 1. I can’t see Middlesbrough doing that. It was a great day, friendly atmosphere and the day we pretty much clinched promotion in my book. 🐏
  18. Habit then because seats were flying everywhere in 81! I can’t say I miss it but he seemed normal at the time.
  19. Then Shrewsbury away with the seats flying was September 81 then. Unless we regularly went to Shrewsbury and put the seats on the pitch!
  20. Derbyshire beat Northants that day to win the NatWest trophy. I remember watching the climax on tv after getting back from Shrewsbury. Not entirely sure how but I definitely remember doing that.
  21. The most successful years in the history of the club. Wow. Were all the other years of failure our fault as well?
