I think you must be naive to think mel doesn’t no what he is doing.i doubt he sacked him on a whim.

I seem to recall a newspaper article saying that MM was keeping the Club afloat to the tune of £3M a month.
In that context, is the Club really going to countenance paying a player £25k per week to not play possibly ever again for 15 months when the injury was completely self-inflicted? 
Some have claimed that MM makes the “wrong decisions” because his heart rules his head. I’d say this is clear evidence that it is not true. it’s a decision made in the best interests of Derby County. 
 
 

Exactly this...If Keogh loved this club as much as people think why not accept a lesser offer and keep negative publicity away from DCFC but no......he's done wrong but no apology to fans and doesn't want a pay cut...club was generous to offer him any deal considering his age and what he's done.....he's not coming across very well in all of this...maybe it is this arrogance which led him to stay out later than was expected and getting drunk in the first place..he's not acting how I would like our captain to act  if he was a decent captain surely he would've shown an example and told the likes of Lawrence and Bennett to get themselves home via a cab.......now this is going to drag on if he appeals....this club has no feel good factor at the moment and i fear it will reflect on the pitch.....sorry times

The thing I can't get my head around is this: was Keogh seriously expecting us to pay him £2 million for a period where he couldn't play due to an accident which he contributed to (not wearing a seatbelt)?
Even the reduced offer of £1m (£12.5k a week) is extremely generous when the insurance will not cover non-footballing injuries. Why refuse that?
Up until now, I have never questioned his passion nor commitment to the club, but if that's to be believed, it's his own petulance that has landed him in this position. Why should the club be expected to pay for Keogh's own negligence in keeping himself fit to honour the terms of his contract?

This is going to get me a lot of stick but I feel the club have massively cokked up here. I for one was hoping our rich will stay and one day manage us. As a young CB at school vidic and keogh were my idols. Vidic was my idol as a cb with his willing to put his body on the line. And keogh was my idol from pure sportsmanship ability and passion and everything. He was the first name I got on the back of my shirt. My favourite ever Derby player. Not the most gifted or anything but a true grafter and a lovely guy. I’m heartbroken by the news. The club need to think about getting him back either that be as a player or a coach because he is invaluable to this club 

I don't think they do. He got offered the chance to stay on reduced terms, if he cared about the club as people were implying he would accept it. He's never publicly apologised for the night, and seemingly hasn't taken any responsibility for it. I don't know how Keogh is coming out of this positively.

Who gets injured at work and takes home full pay..all this I feel sorry for keogh,mels wrong he shouldn’t of sacked him ffs,give your head a wobble’folks,I think personally he a greedy t@@t now refusing a pay cut,why would you refuse it.not like he gonna be doing much else is it for a good while.who wouldn’t mind doing fa for a few grand a week.

I’m at PP Saturday and paying good money to watch. I’d like to see Keogh playing, I’ve liked him for 7 years. 
 
He can’t play, he did something very stupid and can’t play for a very long time. We shouldn’t honour £25k PER WEEK, to somebody who can’t play for that long. He’s decided to walk away from the club when the club offered him a good deal. Greedy bstard thought he should get more, Wker. 
 
Well done Derby, you are dealing with this the best way possible and the only party coming out with any credence. 
 
If people have already forgot, Morris is having to deal with something that Should never have happened and is veering too far away from our season. 
 
Good riddance to Keogh and the other two when the time is right.
