He did look quite far over.
Yeah I thought that, would have liked to see a replay.
Du Plooy had a bit of luck, but raced to 18 runs. After a injury hampered pre season, and a pair in the 1st game, hopefully just what he needs to get going.
I forgot to mention the wicket is so green, it reminds me of when I played on the grass at the park at Mickleover as a kid ? I’m not expecting a big scoring affair.

As expected, it’s the same team that faced Warwickshire. I guess you have to give Dal more than one game to prove himself at 3.
Worcestershire won the toss and elected to bowl....hopefully Du Plooy and Madsen aren’t both at the crease in 15 minutes time....

Squad for the first home game of the season. I had to do my homework on Nick Potts, he’s a young “pace” bowler from Burton. I’d guess he’d be one of the 2 not to make the 11. Hosein did enough to keep the gloves, so it’s between Guest and Dal for that extra batsman spot. I’d guess they try Dal again.

I’ve had a tenner on Matsuyama for the last 4 majors he’s played in, convinced he’s got one in him. Didn’t do it this time for some reason. Will have very mixed feelings if he wins

More snow/rain came and they’ve shaken hands on a draw. Considering the positions we put ourselves in at the start of both innings, a very good result.
positives, Critchley looked good batting at 6. Hosein batter very well second innings. Bowlers took wickets, and Stanlake and Melton to add as well, we look alright in the bowling department.
The big question mark is that number 3 position, would make such a difference if we can find someone to go there.

I don't think the snow is that thick
On the YouTube chat, the locals are saying there’s raining incoming too

Snow stops play
Should probably cement the draw

244 all out, lead of 212. Hosein left unbeaten. Hopefully we can get a couple of early wickets and put them under pressure.
-
Critchley out LBW looked a bit high to me ?
-
Century partnership for Critchley and Hosein, superb in the circumstances.
-
159-5 at lunch.
bizarrely we have the highest partnership of the game now, and the 3 highest scorers.
Will be interesting to see how we approach it after lunch. Just play out the draw, or look to set them something like 180 and tempt them to go for a quick chase, which would be fraught with danger on this pitch.
-
155-5 at the moment, Critchley having a great game, and Hosein staying with him.
-
71-5
Madsen out for 20, players have since gone of for bad light....hopefully to be followed by lots of rain.
-
Searching a positive....Critchley has been our best batsman over the 2 innings so far and looks good for the number 6 spot.

Why don't give Tom Wood a decent run in that role?
He’s not done much in the very few chances he’s had, but I don’t think he’d be worse than Dal at 3.
Brooke Guest seems to be next in line. He's played 3 first class games with a batting average of 9, but he’s only 23 (Wood is 26) so I wouldn't mind seeing him getting a run of games to see what he can do. Dal is never going to be a number 3, we are desperately trying to fit him in the team because he’s such a good fielder.

And there goes Godleman. Be over today if the rain stays away.

Well.....that optimism was short lived. Hopefully the Dal at 3 experiment has ended. We really need to find another batsman from somewhere.

Excellent morning with the ball, bowled them out for 221, Critchley and Cohen with 2 a piece, Reece got the ball rolling with the wicket of Bresnan.
32 behind, the wickets been tricky from the start, and with uneven bounce. Of we could set them anything over 200 that could be tricky....have to keep an eye on the weather though.
-
169-5 and the rain is back. Been a good effort with the ball, a 50 plus stand has put Warwickshire in the driving seat now. The pitch is starting to misbehave quite a bit, if we can still bowl them out without them getting too far ahead, it will be an interesting last 2 days.

In all honesty, he should have gone. One bad tackle and your career could be over, just like that.
When you’re offered a contract at the team with the team that has the best Quarterback in the game, you have to take it.
Another poor season and he’ll be lucky to land at the Raiders never mind Chiefs.
Yeah, I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t want to play for the Chiefs ?♂️

Obviously decided he didn’t want to win one.

Billy Godleman batting outside off stump and completely hiding the stumps to the bowler is currently a fascinating watch, and is visibly frustrating the Worcestershire bowlers.
