  1. I'd hoped that too considering it's the job he was doing at Reading in the league above. ..but in his interview he said his favourite thing to do is to carry the ball forward, and it's almost like Warne heard that and decided to disregard what he'd been doing at Reading in favour of having him doing doggies and chasing the ball down in the opposition's half as an advanced midfielder. It's almost like he was more interested in pleasing the player by letting him do what he wants rather than what would be good for the team. Similar to how he said wanted Korey Smith getting forward more and getting on the scoresheet because of something his son said to him about being the worst player on the pitch if he doesn't score a goal. Kind of like how Bird has been played as a deep lying midfielder for the senior team by every other manager but now finds himself more as a no. 10, although that has been good for certain aspects of his game as his numbers would show. (Yet the criticism of him continues) Anyway, subsequently Fornah's looked pretty pap and seems to have gone backwards, can't be trusted even when not ill, and looks like a signing we've made for the sake of it without any real plan as to how he's going to contribute. Where and how does he get back in the team in any meaningful capacity?
  2. What exactly are people classing as vitriol (where's the line?), and how many people are actually giving it out? I'd hate to think people take anything I've said about him as vitriol / abuse because it's never intended as such.
  3. Of course, but it's a big concern that Warne doesn't seem to be showing an ability to produce a team which is better than the sum of its parts , so unless the quality of player we sign upon promotion raises the overall quality of the squad to mid/lower-mid table standard it's unlikely our recruitment will cover for his shortcomings. We'd need some very good recruitment, but his recruitment so far hasn't inspired much confidence. That could change when we have more free reign, however. As I said yesterday his last attempt at Championship management was actually on track for survival, so there's some hope there, but we also don't know how the rest of the season would have played out.
  4. With hindsight, are you more of less concerned about your system leaving us open to counter attacks than you were a year ago? And do you plan to tighten things up in the middle once you've been able to bring in more of your own players (ie, once Hourihane's contract is up)?
  5. Essentially you've got to take the rough with the smooth. This. Is. Warneball. Accept that the way out of this division may well lie in the peaks it brings us, and that the way back to this division probably lies in the troughs. There's no evidence it works above this level, but evidence also says that the most recent incarnation of his methods may have kept Rotherham safe, before he left them for us.
  6. Gutted for TJJ but don't understand why we extended his loan when he has this background and Warne doesn't actually know how to use him anyway.
  7. To add to that TJJ injured and covering his face to not show how upset he is
  8. I do think he represents the perfect Warne player but I admit he Could Be Taller
  9. Could have told you CBT would try to shoot rather than play someone else in but ehhhhh he'll score enough, hopefully, to mitigate for those moments.
  10. Sorry, see the edit. We've at least changed formation/system Rather than just replacing what isn't working with.. what isn't working. That said it may still not work as 3 at the back is s****.
  11. We'll still get something out of this. These subs seem to have more purpose (change of system)
  12. Were our subs designed to achieve anything in particular?
  13. Or a manager who wants them to. It's all about our ball recoveries from our press, not our tackles ..
  14. It feels horrible to think it really, given what he's gone through but no he just doesn't look the part. Similar to when we had Brad Jones, his personal circumstances were awful and it felt like we shouldn't criticise, but...
  15. tbh after seeing what it's done to one poster on here I'd stay well bloody clear. b******* of the highest order.
  16. I was spelling it phonetically, well, at least for those who pronounce it that way.
  17. Probably because at times we get away with being crap and winning anyway, we fall into that pattern and it takes a while for us to step it up in games we start poorly. A bit of complacency. We're looking better the past 5 mins and I expect a much better second half.
  18. Assume we're going to complain about Barkhuizen not being booked there?
  19. He ends up on the left when NML wanders central. Otherwise there would be nobody out wide to receive the ball.
  20. If one of our players made that tackle and got sent off we'd be up in arms.
  21. It was a foul but nothing like a red card.
  22. NML crap so far. Getting it too often with his back to goal.
