  1. tbf this is the one thing I'm genuinely impressed with, we haven't given other teams time to breathe recently due to the closing down and pressing from front to back. (no puns, sorry)
  2. We should be able to grab Angola two against this rabble, in fact I'd bet Myanmar on it.
  3. There's compelling evidence that he knows how to get promoted to and manage in the Championship while developing young players, which is 100% a match toward our aim of becoming an established Championship club and making best use of our Category One Academy. There's compelling evidence that Warne is a total bust at Championship level and none that he can develop young players. If we could have got him before we gave Rosenior the interim role or appointed Warne - there was a window of potential availability but we don't know if he'd have come - we should have.
  4. Who said anything about refusing promotion? I'm just saying we need to understand the main reasons for our current run of success or else it won't count for a great deal in the long run, much like last season's golden spell didn't If by some miracle we went up? LMAO. It would hardly take a miracle or anything even close to that.
  5. He's right though. It wouldn't count as the lowest accumulated points total or make them the 'worst team in history' just as our relegation due to points deductions and other EFL BS doesn't mean we deserved to be relegated to be relegated to League One.
  6. No. That way leads to us being back in this league 12 months after leaving it.
  7. The danger with that is believing we're better than we actually are before facing a harsh reality check. I just don't think that reality check is likely to happen (for any sustained period of games) while we're in League One!
  8. Enjoyable win. One day we might face an opposition who actually provide some, you know, opposition (it's just all too easy at the minute) but for now it's just nice to see some good football played and some players showing their class and building up some form to carry through to league games. Bizarre post imo to say 3 goals flattered us. 5 wouldn't.
  9. Stand wherever you want because the opposition don't want the ball and aren't pressing you.
  10. We haven't seen any stories of our managers mislaying one of his players, but we have seen stories of a couple of our managers laying one of his player's missus! (apologies in advance for the horrible and crude terminology!)
  11. I'm interested in the competition while we're in it, but wouldn't give a toss for more than maybe 5 minutes at most if we got knocked out. It would be nice to win it, but I wouldn't consider winning it anything worthy of celebration just a largely insignificant footnote in our history. Probably would have gone tonight but may need to be available at a moment's notice for gravely-ill-in-law assistance.
  12. With our record for injuring players (or signing already injured players) he'd earn the nom de plume "Ben Krankenhaus" in no time.
  13. Burnley (20th before play) 5-0 Sheffield Utd (18th) If we could rely on Sheffield Utd not getting some more awful VAR decisions fall in their favour they'd 100% definitely be bad enough to break it.
  14. Might be overkill but nearby / available forum members (and whoever else) could drive to PPS and form a line outside the ground for when the cars pass? Maybe even raise a glass in a nearby bar after if they're off work. I mean, who says B4 can only have one organised round of applause?
  15. That's nothing more than we should expect with the squad we have. Is there a directive out there that everyone has to be c***-a-hoop because we're just about hitting par in an abysmal division full of utterly s*** teams? Getting Derby promoted this season, with the way the league it is, barely even registers as an achievement. The real work starts when we're back in the Championship.
  16. I don't go seeking out xG stats myself but can see how they're useful when assessing and predicting long-term performance levels. However, it amazes me just how proud some are to proffer themselves as a Luddite, revel in this usually unwanted status, glorify it and even use it to mock others. All for using a statistic they don't like. It's really rather childish.
  17. No complaints in the short term. It was the kind of performance as with quite a few others of ours are which doesn't show signs of translating to the league above against better opposition but will beat most in this league. I'm willing to accept the idea that Warne is only being judged on the short term ie our (very good) chances of promotion but it doesn't change my long term assessment .
  18. Why? If you were a Port Vale fan you'd be thinking "game over, we won't score on a million years ' Game was over the second we scored.
  19. Fantastic ball in from NML and TJJ showing why he can be worth waiting for
  20. Possibly on a one game basis but he's literally strong and .. nothing else. Slow, s*** at football. No technique. He might bully a player now and then but can't back it up by anything once he gets the ball.

  22. tbf we've probably got the best back 4 in the league and not just statistically. They shouldn't be troubled by a team as dire as this.
