  1. I never use the ignite button. I find that someone might be talking crap one day, but then might say something really inciteful the next. Imagine the nuggets you might miss out on. i nearly ignored someone once, can’t remember at all who that was though. For all I know, that might have been you (it wasn’t). that’s the key to not holding a grudge, just have a crap memory.
  2. I find it funny people have spats with each other and bear grudges. No offence to anyone, but I really can’t remember who I’ve argued with and who I’ve had a nice conversation with. I think I have a text based version of face blindness. If there’s a post I want to reply to, I reply to it. I might back you up in an argument one day, and then sarcastically point out the ridiculousness of your post the next day. And you might think that’s a bit bipolar, but I honestly haven’t even registered who it is I’m replying to. I think the whole world is just itching for a fight at the minute though. It’s very obvious politically. Never has there been more far right vs far left all over the world (maybe there has, but not since I’ve been old enough to take notice). And I think that angst and tension is filtering down into people’s normal lives. We all just need to convert to Buddhism or something. Shave our heads, throw our phones away, and go live on a mountain top.
  3. Automate the whole thing. Try arguing with a robot.
  4. Same. A part of me will always dislike Villa for their blatant disregard the financial rules. They totally gambled and won by the skin of their teeth. I would’ve liked nothing more that season than to see than crash and burn into oblivion, they would’ve been absolutely screwed. but now they’re up there, I’m quite enjoying what they’re doing.
  5. Oh my his, Man Utd are so crap this season. I’m bloody loving it. It’s my favourite side plot of the premier league. And how pundits keep blowing smoke up their ass like how a 1-0 win against Chelsea is suddenly their turning point. Everything is a turning point. A last gasp win against Fulham was a turning point. They absolutely average at best. theyre s***, they’re s***, they’re s*** again and then they beat Everton 3-0. And all of a sudden their record doesn’t look so bad taken out of context. They have been absolutely pony. And I love it.

Double? We were unbeaten to them, but didn’t do the double. That would’ve been nice. We’d’ve had 13pts then.

This thread is a bit of a damp squid now.

It’s not that it bothers us. It’ll be a traditional thread now forever because it’s always interesting to speculate and gives us a little bit of skin in the game in the teams around the bottom of the league. Like having a matchday thread or live football thread. What is a forum if not a place to speculate and discuss. What are the chances it might get broken this year, etc. otherwise, why would I care who’s in the relegation battle in the premier league?
  9. Peruvian, but close enough. She keeps her ear to the ground. Crack pot South American leaders is a very fair shout. She’s not too happy with the political situation in Peru at the minute either. there are a lot of Venezuelans in Peru though. thats the problem with Communism, which looks good on paper, but it seems like every time its out into practice, the people in charge get corrupted. It’s like everyone is equal, expect me, I’m a little bit more equal than everyone else. And then it all goes wrong.
  10. I very much do feel sorry for the Venezuelan, but don’t go making out that Chavez and Maduro are Robin Hoods. They are / were very bad men, with very bad plans, and the country is an absolute mess because of them. (I know quite a few Venezuelans that have left in a mass exodus).
  11. Germany were under strict sanctions once.

I’m not sure the 27% is relevant when the numbers are so small. In real terms it’s just one win and a draw. They could’ve easily got 11pts if a couple of things went slightly differently throughout the season.
  13. I think the point is that they’ve all done well, but then hit a ceiling at lower premier league level. Like Warnock has an amazing record, but you wouldn’t put him in charge at Liverpool. Certain mangers just aren’t cut out for that elite level. Or even mid table premier league level. Just like certain players. But they’ll excel at championship level. But for a while they’ll have delusions of grandeur, until they get spanked 5-0 by Fulham and realise their place in the football pyramid. Cooper is one of those.

An incredible achievement at that, proven by the fact that no one else has managed to achieve it before or since.
  15. It’s literally exactly what Morris did the Clement. Well placed in the playoffs, but a boring style of play, sacked. The point is, if we’re laughing at Sunderland for being stupid for sacking a manager when they’re just outside the playoffs, how stupid would we be for sacking a man anger when we’re actually in the play offs.
  16. If you believe it, you can achieve it. Cmon forest. You can do it.
  17. I think the point is that us sacking Warne would make us more stupid than Sunderland.
  18. I reckon it’s possible. If they loose a couple of 6 pointers against Bournemouth and Luton, they could be in real trouble. I reckon, against all the odds, Luton might have more chance of staying up than Burnley. if they don’t get relegated, I think Bournemouth will overtake them. So I think they’re destined for 4th from bottom, but maybe lower.

Yep. Man City getting a 100 point deduction and ending on 10pts won’t count.

We beat them in that season. Surely beaten by the worst team in history is worse than being the worst team in history.

Wasn’t that Paul Jewell’s problem? He thought he could spare us some blushes by buying a bunch of has beens in January. Why would Sheffield Uniteds owners bother with spending money on the team when the writing is clearly on the wall. Literally the only thing they have to play for now is to try to beat our 11 points. Which they will with their current players. So there’s no need to invest. The time to invest was at the start of the season, so if they weren’t going to do it then, they’re not going to do it now.
  22. I’ve found it funny and frustrating over the past few days since their victory against the mighty Everton. Oh they’ve turned a corner, they’re really good now. Look at them in 4th. Look at the fixtures they’ve won, and in most cases, only just. They beat Sheffield United 1-0, who have just lost 5-0 to Burnley. they've had a lucky easy run of games, as soon as they come against someone half decent, they get battered. im not sure why people don’t take into account the run of games. Like when viera got sacked last season from palace. Suddenly Hodgson had great success. Yes, cos viera had played all the top 6 in his previous 6 games, and Hodgson’s first 3 were against the bottom 3 (or something like that). Absolutely every chance that viera would’ve won those 3 games too. Now Palace fans are moaning that they should’ve kept viera. No s***. anyway, point is, United should’ve been sacking ten Haag when he’s only beating Sheffield United and Luton by a single goal. And they shouldn’t be surprised that he’s getting battered by anyone above 10th.
  23. Crazy to think Huddersfield in 21st are closer to Hull in 6th (11pts) than Sheffield Wednesday in 24th (12pts). The championship is a weird division.
  24. Why is it his fault though. The ref on the pitch has the final say. He could’ve over ruled the VAR. he didn’t, so he should be canned.
