  1. Wouldn't want Collins and Tyrese Campbell as my forwards in the championship...i think that would be a recipe for disaster!...rather keep Gayle, buy a big lad up front who scores goals at this level, and get a premier striker from one of their academies..oh and Dajeune Brown.

It did, but we don't have much depth at center half to cover three positions so you'd think a center back would be on the shopping list if we're sticking with it.

To go with Cashin & Nelson, Fozzie, Bradley & Rooney...so that will be 5.

Also Nyambe as a right sided

  3. He went because we needed him to go..so that we had wiggle room for Adams and Gayle...the clause to loan back was clever..and it all worked out.

We wouldn't have gone up without it!

I do wonder if Bird, like Knight before him, both have a tinge of regret..i certainly do.

Out of the top young players in League One, I'd like to see us consider:

Marc Leonard, Thelo Aasgaard, Bosun Lawal, Freddie Potts, Harvey Vale & Idris El Mizouni for the midfield positions

Karamoko Dembele, Kwame Poku, Femi Azeez, Paris Magoma, Abu Kamara, Martial Godo in the wide positions.

Joe Taylor & Miles Leaburn upfront.

Other than that: Charlie Hughes (CB), Sean Roughan (CB) & Sam Tickle (GK)

Most of them have been on loan from Premier League clubs and will be highly sought after. The ones that haven't may be out of our price range, but there's some talent knocking about on review - especially if we're considering young players to add asset value to our club.

Sean Roughan is a left back!

Of course, I've said on another thread something like 12-17th would be a good result. But as far as recruitment goes, no restrictions other than our own budget will be fascinating to see who we end up targeting to try and achieve the style of play he's spoken about.

The team that finished 2nd last year look like they will finish 2nd again this year...why would we not aim that high..must be a possibility..might be hard but hey why not??!!

I don’t think we have to be ruthless. We have to be sensible and strike a balance.

At the end of the day, Warne’s success has been achieved through good man management and building a good club culture.

If we decide to be ‘ruthless’ we’ll be left with almost no-one and having to rebuild the team from scratch as well as the good atmosphere in the dressing room and good team spirit and understanding amongst the players.

That shouldn’t be underestimated. Warne won’t want a team of strangers lining up together on the opening day.

It was Warne who suggested he would have to rip it up

I am a little concerned about Fozzy . He will be 36 before the end of the season . 5 year ago in the Championship - he was being booooed by home fans. Opinion is split on him . I have always liked him and wouldn’t like to see fans turn on him again if we had a rocky start to the season .

Fozzy played v Bolton and was the best player on the pitch!

  8. Im sure Hourihane is off to Villa coaching the kids..maybe i'm wrong..

    Collins is not Championship standard.

    Smith is too slow

Waggy not up to that level anymore

I'd keep Gayle..he has class, just need to keep him fit

Fozzy can still be amongst our best defenders.defo another year

Sibs and Thommo..definitely keep both of them..oh and Wildsmith..top keeper he is!

    Barks..im not a fan

John- Jules..always injured so probably not..

I'd try to offload Bradley ..just think he makes too many mistakes.

I think i'd try to get Adams here on a permanant, and sign Brannigan to play with him...then we need a top goalscorer..that Connor Chaplin from Ipswich or Sammy Schmodics from Blackburn

  9. The achievement of promotion is fantastic, but expected with such a big club.

The style of football was not fantastic..however the attitude of the players was!

Can't wait for next season, just hope we play some good stuff....and sign a championship level goalscorer!

I have the highest respect for your opinion . Mine is - I think Paul  Warne is a better human being than Wazza and Mac put together .

Maybe so..but his accounting is as bad as Mel's..he said pre match yesterday that 2 points a game would have been enough to be champions last season..in actual fact, we wouldn't have been in the top 3

Congratulations to Paul Warne who has broken the club record for away wins. Considering our long history with some great teams, he can rightly be very proud of that brilliant achievement.

I therefore doff my bobble hat to sir Paul of Warne.

    Albeit in the third division

Afternoon val, all OK I hope?

Are you suggesting that people have bought tickets with no intention of going... or are you referring to STHs who play cricket?

Season Ticket holders like myself who play cricket...lets hope we dont have play offs as well!
