I have to say I'm gutted for Burnett, what a poo way to lose your unbeaten record and a world title. He was looking so sharp as well, think he would have stopped Donaire second half of that fight. Burnett vs Inoue was the fight I wanted to see so bad, such a shame. Tete has been bang average last 2 fights, really boring.
Taylor was class as usual, Martin got complete stage freight and looked bemused at a guy that finally fought back. I was looking at his record and he hadn't fought anyone near Taylor's class, miles out of his depth. He complained at the back of the head shot then when the ref stopped it but he looked happy it was over. Strange one.

He's with Frank Warren, his whole comeback will be a joke and desperate money spinner to try and save Queensberry Promotions. Fury has the audacity to call AJ a bum, it's laughable really.

GGG looked aged vs Canelo and he'll be nearly a year older should they fight. 36 yr old GGG vs 28/29 yr old fleet footed BJS would be very interesting. I think BJS finds Canelo an easier fight just because Canelo is fairly static and isn't as good at cutting the ring as GGG. Still waiting for them to confirm the GGG vs Canelo rematch but I think Saunders might get the winner.
They were saying GGG doesn't want to be inactive for long so may go for Saunders as the fight would happen sooner. Either way some more great fights down the line.

Absolutely class from BJS, that was a lesson to any fighter in how to negate a puncher's power. That was a pure boxing performance.

Loads of Russian money behind him, remember he won a purse bid for the Wlad fight. They put up stupid amounts of cash.

Effective aggression is one of the scoring criteria. I guess it is down to the judges to decide whether walking forward and having most of your shots blocked is more effective than jabbing with counter hooks. Be interested to see the punch stats  on this one. I think ultimately if Fury had let that right hand go more he'd have won that, looked a bit gun shy in some rounds. He's still a kid really so it's not the end of the world. If Parker reckons he can step in with Joshua he is in serious trouble.
Bellew vs Parker would be a great fight, one I think Bellew wins through superior ring IQ and counter punching.

Here's one fight I'm struggling to be excited for, AJ vs Wlad rematch. Joshua said recently he paid him too much respect, as was evident when every time Joshua let his hands go Wlad was hanging on. Think AJ is more aggressive and stops him early second time around. Rather see him in vs Wilder or Parker. Keep collecting those belts.

End of round 6 when Brook went back to his corner and Ingle said "Don't say a word... I don't think it has" I knew that was it. His eye was gone. Brook started to slow and spent more time worrying about the eye. It's a real shame. Brook should move up, he's been making 147 for year and at 31 it must be ridiculously draining making that weight for him now.

You don't know what hype job means mate, Hearn is just promoting him and taking gambles simple as that. Fury was harshly treated but he does have some pretty major character flaws in terms of mass appeal. The sexism and homophobia can't really be covered up or brushed over at this point.
A hype job is a fighter that has loads of media attention and push but crumbles at the first test, gets beat the first time they step in with quality. Joshua goes against everything that defines a hype job. What you don't like is the hyperbole that surrounds him, but if he continues it was all justified.
Charles Martin wouldn't even be top 5 HWs in the UK so he definitely isn't Joshua's second biggest win. The guy was handed a vacant shot after fighing nobodies in bars then the other guy's knee ligaments disintegrated. He was never a real champion. Hearn saw that he could get an easy world title and thus be able to have more negotiating power. If was a smart piece of management.

Cannot believe Joshua is still being called a hype job after a fight where he proved everything to the contrary. Not sure why casuals talk like this. But hey ho.
Had a good view for this one, place went mental.

Funnily enough I was directly behind some DCFC season ticket holders, we get everywhere.

My main observation with GGG is that he doesn't like to throw with guys, Jacob's trainer was constantly telling Jacobs to double jab to keep GGG at bay. When Jacobs actually got circling with the jab it stopped GGG from marching forward. He could then get his clean combos away, Brook really set a blueprint for a guy to beat GGG. Problem was Jacobs did it for too few rounds, the roaring and shouting bravado that Jacobs did when he landed clean hooks tells me mentally he didn't fully believe in himself. He spent a lot of time being tentative that probably cost him the fight.
I got the feeling Jacobs was a bit too nice, good fighter though. Think he'd beat Saunders, he's nice and compact with swift short counters. Throws nice combos and has the ability to punch while going forwards accurately. The knockdown was legit but I think he wouldn't have hit the deck if Golovkin hadn't have ran in to him.
Decided to stay up for this one as it was a legit #1 vs #2 high level match up, we don't see this enough. My only annoyance with GGG is he has all these plans for mega fights that so much money is riding on him. Not just promotionally but think of all the sanctioning fees for all those belts! I don't like that being in the background when big decisions are being made in close fights. Not that I disagree with the outcome but it doesn't help the credibility.
Triple GGG is the guy in 30-40 years kids are asking the older guys about, I always make the effort to see his fights because he's one of the few potential all time greats around.

Honestly reading Twitter replies to boxers is just mind boggling, some of the cowards that have a pop is absolutely astounding. The way the media went after Fury after becoming the best HW on the planet was a joke. He may have said some stupid stuff but I just wished they'd leave the guy alone. Fighters want to stay as healthy and relevant for as long as possible, they always take the safest route to the most money it's simple common sense and we'd all do the same. Blows my mind that casuals all moaned about Joshua's early fights, he moved way faster than most HW prospects.
Joshua vs Wilder is my dream match up right now, that fight would be huge assuming AJ does the business in April. Think Wilder gets schooled, he lost all the rounds to a poor Washington. Straight forward KO IMO for AJ there.
You're right about the danger though, these casuals don't understand how hard these guys punch. They treat these fighters like video game marionettes, just there for their entertainment. They wouldn't be so flippant if they were taking sledgehammers to the head for a living.

What's wrong with the Joshua hype?
Seems a nice lad, Olympic champion, British, knockout artist, doesn't talk *****.
He's playing a part in making boxing and British boxing and heavyweight division exciting.
The only reason he gets more hype is because he's genuinley exciting, backed by Sky Sports and he's an Olympic hero. He's not a bully, he's not had to call people out, he's not had to be controversial.

I'll defend David Haye here. What else could he have done? D Whyte is still injured. His opponent was the only undefeated heavyweight in the world that had more than 25 wins on his record bar Deontay Wilder.
I'm sure Haye would fight Fury, AJ and Wilder now but none would fight him. He needs to build back his reputation after such a long tiem out, and he needs testers to see if he can through a camp without getting injured.
The hasn't frauded anyone because his fights are free to watch. He knows the game, he knows he can't demand PPV just yet and needs to build back up. It's all business really.
And regardless of whether Shannon Briggs is a bum or not, people want to see it. I want to see it, it will be intriguing but I know David Haye will pick up an easy win (round four I'm predicting when Briggs is gassed).
Mayweather and McGregor looks like it will happen and will make millions. It's an absolute mis-match, Mayweather will hammer him. But people want to see it all the same.
