  1. I gave up after a few episodes. At least Murphy's Mob had the advantage of being partly filmed at the Baseball Ground.
  2. The pitch was a bit worse when they had the monster truck racing on it. But only a bit.
  3. That 1993 Benson and Hedges Final at Lord's was a bit special. One of my top three Cricket matches along with seeing England win a Test at the SCG (2003) and seeing England draw at Cardiff in 2009.
  4. If we were skint I doubt we'd be going to the expense of buying and fitting rails in the South Stand, changing the graphics on the outside of the Main Entrance or leaving the lights on in The Yard 24/7. None of those things have much of an ROI and are easy to sort/defer if you were anywhere near skint. Obviously if we were skint we wouldn't be able to pay a £300k loan fee for CBT - that one may hopefully have more of a ROI though. As for Warne you'd have to take into consideration the opportunity cost of not sacking him.
  5. I've only skimmed through the thread but I don't think anyone's mentioned that SBW is a reworking of a very famous Australian song 'Up There Cazaly' - the best selling Australian single for a while. The SBW lyrics were by Tank Tewson who I think is now in the USA. The mockney aspect that's been mentioned is probably because Robert Lindsay lost his Derbyshire accent a while back. MIght be worth getting the youth from One Direction to re-record and donate the profits to our new left back fund. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuuwUd0bSyE
  6. I think Chris Powell had a bit of a shaky start for us. I only really remember that because I was working in the office at the Baseball Ground on Matchdays and I took a call from someone at Southend United who assured me that he was going to be a really good player for us and asked me to pass on a message to him. For the avoidance of doubt I'm not saying Elder is the next Chris Powell but I think we need to see more before we completely write him off.
  7. If anyone parks on Millennium Way then be aware that the usual hour long wait to get out afterwards might be significantly increased tomorrow unless all of this disappears.
  8. The telex machine is kept so clean As it types to a waiting world. I like my football on a Saturday Roast beef on Sundays, all right I go to Blackpool for my holidays Sit in the open sunlight
  9. Not impossible but unikely I'd say. I did post on another thread recently about a conversation I'd been party to in 1989 with one of the 1971/72 league winners who when asked what he though of Brian Clough said most of the time he couldn't stand him. Probably some truth in that but a whole lot of caveats as well. I'm not using this one reaction to advance an argument one way or another, I just thought it was worth mentioning as we were probably the only Derby fans to hear Warne's reaction.
  10. I know precisely what Warne said in reposnse to what Sibley said and it was the only time that Warne acted like that in the game. I'm not claiming that this is indicative of their relationship in general but I think it's worth noting when there is speculation about their relationship. I thought the fourth official thing was worth mentioning as it seemed out of character. I've seen Warne having discussions and sometimes heated discussions with fourth officials but not to that frequency/intensity.
  11. We were here so it wasn't that difficult. After the fourth official spoke to him Warne was mostly sat in the dugout with Barker doing the coaching.
  12. Take from it what you will. It was the only time in the match that Warne reacted like that and I thouhgt it was instructive that it was after Sibley said something to him given the speculation about their relationship. Warne seemed to want to spend the first 20 mins berating the fourth official until the fourth official got really bored of him and marched him back to his technical area.
  13. I'm not so sure about that. There was a point in the first half (think it was after the goal but I can't remember) when Warne goes to the touchline and says something to Sibley who is about 15 yards away. Sibley says something back and Warne turns round looking unhappy and says quite loudly "effing hell" and marches back to the dugout.
  14. I'm leaning towards Day 3 of Derbyshire vs Gloucestershire at the County Ground on the 7th. In terms of Wembley trips I'm still not over the 1994 Play Off Final - got the Video somewhere, unwatched to this day. Bit of advice, if you're really upset after a game don't neck four cans of Stella in two minutes or not before establishing where the coach is stopping - it's a long way from Wembley to Warwick Services.
  15. Hove's a really nice ground and Derbyshire are reasonably competitive there (I'm not going to Durham again). The hospitality for County Championship is reasonably priced as far as I recall. I'm thinking about Hampshire or Somerset in the 1 day cup as I've been to most of the other grounds we're playing at.
  16. "𝙔𝙤𝙪'𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙞𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙨. 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙖𝙨𝙩." Surely Derbyshire LIve can mangle that into "Warne wants Thick and Fast as important player recruitment update emerges"
  17. To be fair Weston's been training all week. He can now serve a Balti Pie and a White Coffee in under a minute.
  18. Anoki, Viceory are both good near to the Railway Station, Mount Everest is also good on London Road (Nepalese). Niccos on Pride Park (next to the Harvester) is very good but you'll need to book as it gets busy.
