Martyn
They all seem perfectly reasonable to me. The problem appears to be why the fixtures were allocated like that in the first place!
uttoxram75
Had the same email. Obviously doesn't affect enough fans to concern them. Fair enough I suppose, unless you're a shift worker or live a good distance away. davenportram
Here's an alternative - play all midweek games on a Wednesday not a Tuesday. The football league to schedule fixtures on good Friday and not Easter Saturday.

CumbrianRam
Here's an alternative - play all midweek games on a Wednesday not a Tuesday. That's far too simple for these football clubs to work out, they alwaus have to make it so complicated. -JW-
If they move tuesday games to wednesday they'd probably move the saturday game to sunday.
uttoxram75
The recuperation time might be needed due to the small squad we'll end up with. See - its turning me into a feckin wristslasher... columbo terrace
A bit like the Leicester fixture the season before last.. We couldn't possibly kick off at 3pm because of fans drinking beforehand, it will have to be moved to 1pm. Oh, Sky want a 5.20ko? No problem at all... swansea ram
All this chopping and changing of dates is no good to people like me. Pride Park is nearly a 400 mile round trip, so i usually stay up overnight, but i cant book a hotel room too early, because if they change the date it means me trying to book a extra night in the hotel, which then makes it a expensive weekend. StevenageRam
so the police wanted the Birmingham game to kick off early at 1 oclock to stop fans drinking before the game. Now sky have moved it to a 5.20 kick off. Just shows how much influence sky have over the police

notajock
It's ridiculous, although with the amount of money they pump into the game theres not really anyone point in clubs arguing. But there's clearly scope for arguing with the Police - their demands are clearly not binding are they? In fact this pretty much exposes them as worthless and unnecessary in the first place. uttoxram75
with apologies to Don McLean and his great song.......... For twenty years we’ve been run by SKY Slowly watching football die But that’s not how it used to be.. The FA sold out to the Premier League And the romance died, replaced by greed Hardly a voice came from you or me.. Once we used to dream and wish Then we sold our soul for Murdoch’s dish The day, the football died…. Singin…bye, bye, the Americans, bye Paid my levy to the telly but the telly was sky Them good ole boys are milking football dry Singin.. this will be the way football dies This will be the way football dies I can’t remember if I cried When I heard about the Friday night But something touched me deep inside The day the football died
