She looks like a man, sounds like a man and has done things on track that raises questions. After some protests from her competitors she underwent some testing that showed she had three times the testosterone that women normally do. They did some testing on her so they could find out her gender. After the tests came out as somewhat inconclusive they first banned her from running but later decided that she can compete as a woman. All the other athletes are pissed off because they know she can't be beaten. At the same time Semenya's life has become everyday struggle with testing, media hassle and hatred of others. BorneoRam Posted September 3, 2011 Share Posted September 3, 2011 Most of the Women's World records are 25+ years old from a time before drug testing came in - the distance ones are a bit more recent as there were a group of Chinese who came in and smashed the records and then got out before they could get tested but this was a while back. The 100m for example is held by Flo-jo who was around at the same time as Carl Lewis, the only person to get close was Marion Jones (banned for steroids). There is talk of just resetting all the records to make them meaningful. Back on topic - I feel sorry for her, but really if she has a clear advantage that cannot be neutralised she should be banned. reminds me of the Simpson episode where Homer competes as a woman....
