Don't forget our owners are worth £1.5 Billion between them. All that glitters ain't gold!

Certainly doesn’t. I doubt our wealthy owners know or care we’re looking to sell one of our best players for less than ‘silly money’ so the manager can have a transfer kitty. This is a soul destroying enough and the last thing I want to see right now is happy optimistic gumps all over the telly.

I hope this Al-Hasawi plan blows up in their faces as soon as possible.

Peterborough United are reporting Gianni Paladini to the Football League after alleging that he has made an illegal approach for Darren Ferguson on behalf of Nottingham Forest.

Paladini, who is understood to have claimed he was representing the Al-Hasawi family who are in takeover negotiations with Forest, has been accused of tapping up Ferguson, the Peterborough manager, and the Championship club are determined to take action.

Peterborough have confirmed they will submit an official complaint to the League regarding Paladini's conduct on Monday, while chairman Darragh MacAnthony is also cutting short a family holiday in the Bahamas to return home and begin an internal investigation.

Paladini, the former QPR chairman who made a significant impression in the documentary 'QPR: The Four Year Plan', is understood to have approached Ferguson even though the Al-Hasawi's are still yet to complete their takeover.

It is also believed the Kuwaiti multimillionaires are reluctant to dismiss Steve Cotterill, who guided the club to survival last season, at this stage which would render Paladini's actions even more bizarre.

Forest have granted exclusivity to the family after the estate of Nigel Doughty, the late chairman, granted permission and a takeover could be completed next week. Investment bankers Seymour Pierce are handling the sale of the two-times European Cup winners and have been in discussions with two parties for weeks.

A deadline had been set for the end of this week for either party to put down a deposit and sources close to Seymour Pierce have revealed that the other consortium, also believed to be from the Middle East, failed to do so.

That paved the way for the Al-Hasawis to move into pole position and they will now undertake due diligence with the estate and the Forest board.

If the forest take over goes through and they have billions to spend are they allowed to under the FFP

There's no restriction on the amount of capital that a club's owners may introduce. However,if such capital is used to buy players then this activity would be constrained by the fact that wages and amortisation both count against the FFP result,so there's a limit to what could be done. From memory, even in the later years an FFP result of minus
