hintonsboots
Founder members of the football league and now played 5045 games in the English football League. Only Burnley and Wolves in the Prem of the eight teams mentioned. How many will we add to the total before we’re back in the top flight ? oodledoodle, RoyMac5 and Pikeyram
Foreveram
Its the EFL 5,000 club, Preston were the first club to reach the milestone on the 1st July 2020, unfortunately for them it was against us and we spoilt the party beating them 0-1. 😂 We joined the club on the 13th September 2022 with our 2-0 loss at Lincoln. hintonsboots
AndyinLiverpool
I pity all those teams unable to add to their totals by dint of being in the Premier League. hintonsboots
BaaLocks
Yup, up there with Leicester (and Man City) being the club who have won the "second" division the most times.
Mucker1884
So with Wolves & Burnley currently in the Prem, we can leapfrog them both this season, and go second after another 24 games? Am I understanding that right? Prem don't count? Edited September 17, 2023 by Mucker1884

Mucker1884
I was already aware that our very own Branko Strupar scored the first Prem goal of the millennium... but I've just read that Preston v Derby on July 1st 2020 was the first ever league game to be played in the month of July (Kicking off earlier than the other 7 games that day, apparently), so yet another trivia flavoured feather in our cap! I like stuff like this. Interesting, but not overly geeky and statty! 🐏 EDIT: Oh... and we won 0-1... so technically, that's two feathers! Playing in a league with 46 games a season helps though. Mucker1884
