It's a fair point, my main criticism of the 2009 side (despite the obvious one) is that only Tyrone Mears went on to play at the same level after that season. It just shows how poor that side was.

Similarly, out of the team that played against Villa take the loans out and only Bogle is playing at a higher level today (ignoring Carson). Some (Malone, Evans, Johnson) are playing Championship football but none have improved.

Compare that to the 2014 team - of that Grant, Wisdom, Hughes, Hendrick and Bamford did.

Of today's side I could only see Bielik and Knight even having a chance of doing that.
