richinspain
I know that the ref was bought for the first leg, and the Italians are probably the best in the world at defending a lead, but we probably didn't deserve to go through having seen that. Zoff was a world class keeper but we just didn't work him. I can't bear to watch it again to count how many clear cut chances we failed to hit the target with. RamNut
Wow. Not seen that for a long time. I know Alan Hinton is still upset at that penalty miss. I told him to forget it. It just wasn’t our night. That video seems to prove it. The cheating cost us gemmill and Roy mac. with them I think we would have won.

Reggie Greenwood
Brian Glanville the Sunday Times investigational journalist did a lot of research and articles on the corruption in this game and many others at the time. Interestingly Juve never sued him. All available on the tinternet for those interested.
europia
More upsetting than that loss is the acknowledgment that we were a top team in Europe...... and we are now pretty much a club firmly rooted in the 2nd tier of English football.
