So summary after this window shows how   many (11) are off the wage list fully or partially. Added to last year’s clear out that’s huge - plus still more to come with 6 senior players out of contract in May.

      King (till end of season)

back from loan Babos, Gordon

out: Butterfield (loan till end of contract)

Pearce (loan till end of contract)

        Ledley (paid off)

Thorne (loan till end of season)

Elsnik (loan till end of season)

Mitchell (loan till end of season)

Mcallister (loan till end of season)

Still out on loan -

Blackman (till end of contract)

Martin (till end of season)

Thomas (end of season)

Lowe (end of season)

Other contracts ending 2019

Davies, Huddlestone, Bryson, Johnson, Roos, Ollson.

on naughty step

I think our side is stronger in attack this season than for a number of years though defensively suspect at times (and by that I mean the team not just the back five).

A new CB would have been ideal but we haven’t lost any first team starters and we are 6th. King is a good player and his experience could be vital.

If we get a good result tonight there are reasons to be optimistic. Don’t forget - for every new signing there’s potentially a player dropped amongst our rivals. There’s a bedding in period and sometimes disharmony.

Our team spirit should be good and our promising youngsters should see the departures of Butterfield, Ledley etc as an opportunity.

Who did the best deadline day business? Not sure there were any wow signings. West Brom were busiest I think with three incoming. Clearly see an opportunity this season and are going for it.

Thoughts?

Forest.

oneil is a shrewd operator

that cb they got from Leicester is already looking like he’s settled in v nicely and the pedigree of what else they’ve brought in sounds v impressive

won’t know til they’re in action but O’Neil doesn’t buy poo
