gfs1ram
You are spot on 'ariotofmyown'. I saw many Derby games pre Clough and thoroughly enjoyed supporting my local team even though they had not had any success for many years. I recall a very foggy Wednesday night game against Bury at the BBG when less than 6000 turned up to watch. (I see the date was 11th March 1964). We won 2-1 and Alan Durban had already arrived and was one of the scorers. He was to become my favourite player and one of the few to survive the arrival of Clough. I also remember the signing of Kevin Hector and the excitement of watching his home debut. Who was this guy who could glide over the BBG mud ?? He scored on his debut in a 4-3 win v Huddersfield. Ended up with 4 players trying to mark him enabling Durban to get a hat trick. And lastly I can still hear my dear old Mum shouting up the stairs that Brian Clough was the new Manager of DCFC in 1967. Let the good times roll and as they say the rest is history !!!! Great memories. COYR..
