I'm sorry but the fact that he's English and he plays fo Tottenham means it's massively overrated.

It's a superb goal - but is it any better than Matias for Sheffield Wednesday versus Leeds? It's 100% not better than Kasami for Fulham at Palace a few years ago and that got nowehere the hype.

It was like the Ibrahimovic goal versus England or Rooney's versus Man City a few years back. If it's anything English they automatically dub it the best goal of the season - or in some cases best ever.

I feel sorry for Alli. Deluded folk are already calling him world class and pinpointing him and Barkley as England's leading stars this summer. Both are good, but come off it.

Also everyone raving about Spurs. They're on course for less points than the team AVB had, but nobody likes to mention that as they're all suck in cloud cuckoo land.

Not trying to downplay Alli's brilliance here, but the reaction has been ridiculous. Matias didn't even get more than a 30-second mention on the football league show.

Come on Bris, the hype would be even greater if he was Spanish/German/Italian.  If Messi or Ronaldo had done it there would be endless vines of it on Twitter for the next 4 years.  If anything we should be highlighting it because the English made out to be footballing neanderthals, stuck in the dark ages of hoofball.  I agree, he's not a world class player but that is a world class goal by anybody's standards.  Yes there may well be better goals scored in the lower leagues but you can blame the lack of coverage on broadcasters, it's The Football League Show's prerogative to devote time to said goals.  Perhaps they should make the show a little longer and not worry about Celebrity Big Brother or whatever Nazi or shark documentary they're showing that night...

He may be over-rated but that's based on his lack of experience and long-standing form.

On ability, certainly not. For a 19 year old he's absolutely fantastic. It's refreshing to have a young English midfielder who has worked his way up from lower leagues now running the midfield of a top 4 side in this country. It would be a travesty if he wasn't starting in Euro 2016.

Yep. I remember after the 13/14 season everyone was saying that sterling, henderson and sturridge would inspire england to glory. Look how that ended up

One thing we can't deny, Pochettino is doing wonders for the future of English football. Top manager, hope he doesn't go abroad.

This sums up how fickle english fans are(nothing saying you specifically but in general). Everyone criticized southampton for getting rid of Adkins and accused pochetino as being a "nobody" when in reality lots of people abroad knew he was going to do well because he was taught in bielsa's school of coaching, the same as pep guardiola.

Lovely goal, not as good as Inaki Williams' strike for Athletic Bilbao vs Espanyol earlier this season, but that's hardly a criticism. Looks like a very promising player.

Cejudo's goal for Betis against Real Madrid last weekend wasn't bad either!
