Hendrick

Hang on a minute he should have started at Wednesday.

In place of whom? Johnson and Thorne seem to be integral and Butterfield scored twice in the previous game. If you want to drop wingers you have to change the formation, which is very difficult to justify when we've been on such a good run playing 4-3-3 exclusively. Hendrick would have come on shortly after the hour mark if Warnock hadn't picked up an injury.

Not sure why you quoted me.

Not sure either to be honest but Hendrick should have started because Johnson and Thorne both sit too deep and Jeff and Craig can get beyond the strikers and make the runs.

I'd have started the same midfield as started the Hull game .

Thorne,Butterfield and Hendrick  .

Johnson to come on  as a sub

Thorne's in the right position - but was deeper than usual due to him being man marked - so Johnson drops back deeper to give Thorne an out - which is the right thing to do.

Johnson drops deep to receive the ball from Thorne to link him to Butterfield or the forwards - or so the plan goes.

With Hendrick on the pitch, Butterfield would be dropping deep to pick the ball from Thorne.

So how did we destroy Hull then with Jeff driving us on.

This

Seems we only look creatively attacking when our DM has room to play... Which is madness...

Without Hughes we're looking for a playmaker to dictate games... which at the moment is Thorne... I think Butterfield is great but he doesn't seem to dictate play... And Hendrick definitely doesn't...

Could do with Ince re-gaining some form though...
