The demise of Forest

Forest are the Championship's draw specialists..

I called that one at the beginning of the season. Such a scrappy squad who play rubbish percentage football but it will get them plenty of draws, especially on the road.

I genuinely hope they make the playoffs, as they will be by far our easiest opposition of the lot.

Two wins from Seven in March.

Auto's you're having a larrff

We never expected to be in with a chance of an auto, however 7 clean sheets from the last 10, and we're back scoring goals, OK its againest ***** teams, we might fluke it, or we might screw it up and drop out of the play-off, however its been a fun season and we haven't wasted £9m and had a manager that has pissed off everybody living, dead and still to be born!!  We have a young team that plays as a team and a manager that puts no pressure or expectations on them.

You gumptards should be more worried about trying to get someone to manage you.

Fridgy says he'll do it and save them £1m a year.

Is that how much they were paying Davros? No wonder they are losing £20m a year. Bloody Kuwaiti fridges must be expensive.

Hmmm...

the 2 wins were 8-0 on aggregate.

2 of the defeats were due to cr@p refs (3 if you count the fact that Martin was missing against Millwall due to the cr@p ref for the Burnley game).

Of the 7 games, 4 were against top 8 teams. Next 7 games are all against bottom half teams except for Watford. Autos would be on except for the fact that Burnley are too far ahead. Most seasons we would have got automatic playing as we have done.

Forest won the European Cup in 1979 and 1980. The best Derby ever managed was a semi final.

Derby won the Football League in 1972 and 1975. The best Forest ever managed was to win it once.

Forest's own manager, Brian Clough, stated that it was far, far harder to win the football league than it ever was to win the European Cup - and who am I to disagree with God?

So where are these feats (achieved before you were born, Dawny) we can only dream of? This is what truly makes me throw my hands up in despair at the tedious whining as to which is the bigger club, which has achieved more and so on. It is attempting to bask in the vicarious glory of achievements which were, by and large, before many of our lifetimes began?

I know - Derby are the better club because Steve Bloomer scored more goals than Grenville Morris.

Utterly pathetic.

And what's more...

Top flight points totals since 1888:

Derby - 2510 pts (15th in all time table)

Notts 'the biggest team ever' Forest - 2404 pts (19th in all time table)

And if to make comparison fairer and we give 3 pts for a win since 1888:

                                                           Derby - 3303 pts

Notts 'the bigest  etc, etc Forest -  2942 pts.

Living in the past? We're even better at that! :p

December to february the dogs were storming it.

Thereafter they talked themselves into a spin, beginning with the cup defeat to NLN.

But all four remaining home games are winnable if they stop dicking around.

Reading haven't quite got it....just 2 wins in 8 and both away.

And...... they have a tough run in with leicester, burnley and wigan to play.

So forest can definitely still make it if they can pull out of the tail spin.

Doesn't matter what scores were today.

What's more important is that they took more to Ipswich than us.

It's only away games that count, isn't it?

We had 7000 more at home to Charlton than they did, but I'm sure that a gump said that the true measure of greatness is how many you take away, so that can't count.

That is correct, seeing as they are into history, they must surely agree with the great man that you could throw open the gates at the council ground, and yet it would still wouldn't be full...... Cue phone jibes etc
