BondJovi
Perhaps part of it then was Clough unwilling to be part of the new structure. I am certain there was talk in the past of such a structure happening...

steveo_DCFC
from listening from the interview that Derby County are looking to follow the Watford management structure with a director of football with a head coach. its looking like Steve McClaren will be head coach but who will the director of football been tho??? Jacko1983
Its sounds to me like Sam rush has been forcing clough's hand trying to get new transfers in. Clough was having none of it so it is time for a change. I think that is why he wants to change the management structure, so it doesn't happen again. Pure speculation... Jacko1983
I think McLaren would make a good head coach if somebody else is responsible for signing players.

-JW-
Clough wanted Keane , Rush wanted Whitbread, Clough gave Rush one of his brutal knee's up the arse, Rush sacks Clough. That was the final straw.
