Tesco constantly try to drive down the price they pay to suppliers, this in turn forces manufacturers to hammer their suppliers and so on. Somewhere, something has to give, whether it be cheap, often hopelessly untrained agency labour not understanding procedures or cutting corners by various businesses along the supply chain.
