trekkie_ram
You come back from Afghanistan and surrender to your missus? I'm not angry. Just disappointed. I've had an iPhone, £180 worth of PC parts, a £60 HDD for the PS3, and we're going to London tomorrow for 2 nights to see the show I want to see, I think she was within her rights to draw the line at a pair of binoculars. I'll just have to wait until next Christmas....

SillyBilly
RIP Sir Patrick Moore. One of the last of his kind - A true English eccentric and total gentleman. Its worth pointing out how great the BBC can sometimes be when it can provide the platform for such a show for over half a century.
Butthead
Is that a 16" dobsonian? the eyepeice looks well old. It was alway fascinating when the Sky at Night toured SPM's backgarden. A lot of his scopes were built by the great man himself. A lot of his work contributed to both NASA and Russian space programmes, all done from his backgarden, amazing really. It's been weeks I've been able to view it due to the bloody weather and then it was boiling low down in the sky, saw the 2 main clouds belts and a couple of barges but that was about it. uttoxram75
I always find it difficult to take a picture of the moon. Can be a bit awkward to ask someone else to do it as well. The old "through the legs in a mirror" job gets harder on the back as you get older. I'm out, stick it up uranus as far as i'm concerned.
