Oh a Nixon tweet which means nothing but pretends to mean something. Bloke is a clown and so many fall for it.

No the truth. Morris attempted to run roughshod over everything. The drone to check on training, sacking Keogh but not Lawrence because it saved him money, delaying at every turn to cover for his 'accountancy' shenanigans, and to leave Derby in this state.

The level of debt he was carrying though is why he failed when covid hit. Morris had no wriggle room left to be able to cheat his way out of. He knew it was game up but instead of admitting he screwed up, he doubled down blaming everything on covid and the EFL!

MM took the club to the point that when Covid hit there was no breathing room left. That's why he couldn't get the £8m loan. If the club are successful then it does set a very dangerous precedent.

Covid was only one of the factors, as you have admitted yourself Derby's historical overspending, which we could still be paying for would also be seen as factors.

The tax bill didn't just happen overnight, we could have sold players in the transfer window to pay debt. The lack of transparency from the club by failing to submit the last 2 years accounts to the EFL raises a Red flag. We don't know what financial position the club were in. To blame everything on Covid is clutching at straws without knowing the full facts No doubt all will be revealed in time.

Alan Pardew benefited from a single magical season when Cisse could hit a barn door and still score. It was a one-hit wonder, believe me. I'm pretty sure I mentioned the two Championships, and I'm certain I didn't argue that Rafa and Hughton saved us from a fate worse than Leeds. That's very much you stirring up a big pot of prejudices and coming out with a swedge of stereotypes.
Most of those 12ths and 13ths came through a series of very late and unexpected wins. The largest part of those seasons were spent calculating how we would avoid relegation and thinking we might not. Since we avoided relegation on the final day of the 2014-2015 season (yet finished 15th - what right do we have to moan, eh?), we have been relegated, promoted, and then flirted with relegation every season until those late and unexpected points. If you don't get it, that might possibly be because you didn't live it.
It's a shame I've just reaffirmed your thoughts on a lot of NUFC fans. The reality is that if you had lived it (as a Newcastle fan, I mean), you wouldn't have said it.

I don't think there is any reset, financial restrictions will carry over to any new owner, no matter how rich they are as you say. So, historic losses are still going to count, unless of course there is liquidation and a new phoenix club is formed.

As a tax payer I'd rather not invite lots of businesses to think they can shirk their responsibilities.
Honestly I think a lot of it will be down to the attitude of the business towards their debts. If the tax man thinks we're pulling a fast one I'm sure they'll be much less likely to meet us half way.

It only puts them in the driving seat if an agreement can be reached with HMRC. before the rule change they were left to fight over the dregs now they are in the position to say settle up or else. Going into administration to get rid of debts is not so easy to get out of now as it was.
Do i think they would put the club into liquidation if they don't receive what they ask for i think they would. This is a test case and will want to show they mean to act tough in negotiations.
