  1. if you think that Israel know exactly where Hamas commanders are hiding, yet didn't know an attack was coming, you're very very naive and gullible. This has all the hallmarks of an inside job, a set up, a trigger-point, collateral damage to instigate and justify a long-planned and desired cleansing of Palestine and it's innocent people. Alpha (and others) have been keen to point out the Hamas is NOT Palestine, and it is not representative of the wishes of the Palestinian people. Who gives the orders to Hamas? I know it's a crude reference, but as we are on a football forum, it may be understandable, when that Derby "fan" send Billy Sharp abuse about his dead child, was he representing all of us Derby fans? Should we all have faced the same response as he did? Well, whilst in no way comparable in terms of seriousness, the grouping of Palestinians and treating them as Hamas is very unfair.
  2. Welcome to the thread. I've not managed to start one of these for a couple of years, but now is the time for many to start planning. Here's what I've pencilled in February - Prague - Long weekend with the missus April - Barcelona - Long weekend with the missus June - Stalis, Crete - Week Away with the boys to enjoy the Euros September - Stalis, Crete, Fortnight with the missus to get some sun for her birthday October - Algarve, Portugal, extended break with missus and another couple. Maybe take golf clubs and get a round or two in.
  3. does anyone think that all Israel's approach will do is generate more hatred in the Palestinian people towards them, and feed into decades more "tit for tat" back and forth revenge?
  4. looking whats happening on the south coast of England today too, it's worrying, however it's not a new thing, just rare. I'd normally joke about some evil villain controlling the weather machine, but I think we are in for a few more challenging weather days in UK in the next few weeks.
  5. do you have evidence to the contrary? I've had similar at PP
  6. I don't believe for one minute that Israel have the intel to know where Hamas commanders are hiding when they didn't even know an attack was coming.
  7. Birmingham weren't known as a decent footballing side under him.
  8. possibly used in the wrong position for us, which makes him look like a slow, immobile passenger. Maybe in a team with more protection, he COULD thrive.
  9. does make you wonder, how, in this day and age, with the knowledge around, how do kids start smoking and vaping?
  10. just drive to the nearest playground and offer the kids some sweeties. What could possibly go wrong?
  11. basically, tell the world that there was a Hamas commander in amongst the innocent you slaughter. Simple. Nobody will ask for evidence.
  12. But but but the football was dire. Isn't that the point now with Warne?
  13. not that it makes a difference, I don't recognise any of those names and do not know if they are any good. My point, disingenuous or otherwise is that Warne is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. People's minds are made up, so highlighting his supposed lack of interest in the academy is futile and moot.
  14. I'll give you that on Rooney, we looked to play fast and attacking, but no way on Cocu, we were abysmal and as bad as we are now, if not worse. Tried to play a slow dutch way, and failed badly.
  15. is that Cocu who left us in relegation zone and Rooney who we were relegated under? Make your mind up, do you want a manager to win? or do you want a manager to play kids? You do realise that since Cocu and Rooney, our academy has been plundered/pillaged for the most talented? We no longer have the Ebiowei, Plange and co.
  16. He doesn't need to be. There's an academy director and a staff for that. Warne only needs to be interested once a player from the academy is ready for the first team.
  17. https://clowes.co.uk/2022/07/01/breaking-news-clowes-developments-takeover-derby-county-football-club/ July last year, it was announced that David Clowes had bought Derby County. Saving the club from disappearing into the ever-growing abyss of crushed football clubs. I cried that day. I didn't think it was bothering me that much. As an adult in his mid-40s, I found myself resenting the amount of money I've "squandered" following Derby County around the country. I can probably count all the enjoyable moments as an adult on my fingers and toes, but there are plenty of bleak and miserable memories, from watching Jim Smith's magic-touch fade, Colin Todd's reputation dwindle, John Gregory's over-confidence implode, Phil Brown trying to reinvent the wheel, Paul Jewell signing everyone he could, to Nigel Clough being too negative to try and win. That's before Uncle Mel came along with his mad rollercoaster. A few years ago I decided to squander my money on playing Golf badly instead of football, beer, gambling and a curry every Saturday, that made me think I was detached from it all, that I'd cut the ties that only a few years earlier had me desperately scrambling for away tickets for 0-0 draws at places like Preston on a Boxing Day! I'd consider myself an armchair radio/TV fan nowadays, and my stress level and general health has been much better. I no longer live in Derby/Derbyshire, which has left me further detached from the club and fellow Rams fans. But from this forum over the last few days, I'm feeling some real rage towards Warne, and maybe even Clowes. It's worse that any time on this forum. Even Pearson had more support! Am I the only one who, whilst disenchanted with performances, and perhaps football in general, doesn't really feel Warne needs sacking? Or am I still just glad we have a club to talk about? I think some of the people so enraged by Warne could do with taking a step back and a deep breath. AS for Clowes, he jumped into Shark-infested waters to drag us back onto the muddy bank, shame on anyone critical of a man who had no ambition to own DCFC, only duty. Disgruntled fans could do with finding a way to contribute to the growth of the club, not the demise.
  18. How do you know when you have hit rock bottom? How do you know how many steps away you are from being Kurt Cobain, Gary Speed, Robin Williams etc? Do you know anyone who has suffered from depression or suicidal tendencies? How would you spot the signs? What was the difference in Gary Speed the day before he ended it, and on the day?
