  1. I hope this is the case. I think the problem he has had is that he may have not been fully fit physically when he signed, but now I wouldn't be surprised if he is lacking match fitness.
  2. One of the things in our favour from now on is the lack of teams with something to play for potentially. Northampton - 13 points off playoffs, 15 from relegation Blackpool - Are in the hunt for 6th, so something to play for Portsmouth - Battling us, so will want a result Wycombe - 13 points off playoffs, 15 from relegation Leyton - 5 points off playoffs atm, but may be out of contention by the game. I'd be surprised if at least 1 of the playoff chasers haven't pulled away from them by this point. Cambridge - In a relegation battle, but teams at the bottom are there for a reason at this point of the season Carlisle - Will be done by this point. One last chance for there fans to experience L1.
  3. Absolutely. Looking at it from an outsider he appeared to struggle at Bristol City in the championship last year, but it would have been a big step up from League 2. I think his spell in League 1 with us this year would have been exactly what he needed to be better prepped for championship football in the future.
  4. Wildsmith Nelson Forsyth Cashin Ward Elder Adams Smith NML CBT Waghorn I'd use Sibley and Thompson off the bench. I find Sibley is best when he comes off the bench, as opposed to starting and Thompson looked really good yesterday. He has the sort of movement that could flourish against tired opponents. Id probably rotate Ward and Wilson depending on their condition and form, but still utilise the non-starter off the bench. I might have Tony Weston on the bench in case Waghorn needs to come off, but I don't think now is the right time to introduce him to regular first team appearances. Unless we are 3 or more goals up with 15 minutes or so left. IMO Dajaune Brown should be left at Gateshead to support his long term development, so I wouldn't consider recalling him unless Waghorn gets injured and there's no-one returning from injury.
  5. I don’t think this is a great idea, but something I’ve just thought of. So Bradley has been playing well in defence and Forsyth was motm today, so could we fit both of them in. Back 3 of Cashin, Nelson, Bradley. Try Forsyth out up front. He’s shown he can finish with his feet and he’s good in the air. Could he be a handy makeshift target man with his attributes. Imagine ward and sibley whipping balls in to him. We’ll also have that extra defender for set pieces. He was originally signed as a winger wasn’t he so playing further forward won’t be completely alien to him.
  6. If I’m right we need 17 points to guarantee promotion and that’s if Bolton win every game. looking at what we have left I think we’ll possibly get 16. So that’s good for us.
  7. I just hope we try to attack them, rather than sitting back waiting to counter attack. PW’s comments about tomorrow being a game ‘we don't want to lose’ concerns me.
  8. I have to get on that. Looks far better than bbc sport that I use atm.
  9. I think his tone comes from looking purely at the figures. His thread was basically the accounts say the club spent x, the accounts say the club lost x, the accounts say the club had x income. He didn’t appear to infer anything, such as the club giving the shirt sponsorship to charity last season, but that’s the way he approaches his work.
  10. It appears he’s talking about the financial stability of the club. Essentially, he’s getting at the club have lost money, but thats a result of the handling of the club by Morris and quantuma. The club could have potentially been in a far worse place had Clowes not run it as well as he has.
  11. It would be good to know that information as a fan base. But the club might be reluctant to share as selling clubs will get a better understanding of the clubs transfer budget, so might inflate prices.
  12. Where did you find these statistics? They look quite interesting.
  13. I can see him becoming a real asset for the club. He has a lot of attributes that would be really useful to have around the first team. However, I hope the club put his development first rather than putting him in and around the first team to cover any poor recruitment. Perhaps it would be good to have him on loan to a league 2 club to gradually expose him to better quality players. Having seen some national league games this season I have seen a lot of poor defending. Maybe a loan spell to a team like Chesterfield, who create lots of chances, in league 2 would be a good next step. I also think it would be good to be giving Darren Robinson a spell out on loan to experience first team football, rather than playing in the u21s.
  14. I don’t believe there is concrete evidence, as there have been no accounts since the date you mentioned (which created all the uncertainty), but I believe that Mel said himself this was the case. How much you believe of what he has to say is up to you, but this is all we have.
  15. Buying shares doesn’t make you a creditor. So the money mentioned in the table aren’t shares.
  16. It will probably be a good move for Brown to go on loan to Gateshead. They've played some really good attacking football earlier this season, but have been massively impacted by loan players being recalled in recent weeks. Having seen them play Chesterfield a couple of weeks back, Brown should get a good chunk of playing time which will benefit his development.
  17. I think he went to play for Notre Dame in the college 'soccer' in America
  18. It could be an interesting approach. If the club have a set amount available to spend, they could sell Bird then bring in 2 decent league 1 players who could push on in the championship. Despite not being a fan of Bird playing alongside Hourihane, I feel a bit more comfortable knowing what Bird is capable of instead of players unproven in a Warne system.
  19. Like others I wonder whether the agreement between the clubs is the 300k loan fee with an obligation to buy for £0 in the summer. I wasn't aware that clubs could offer pre contract agreements to players in England at this early in the year. This way he just becomes a permanent derby player when the transfer opens, as opposed to his contract at Charlton expiring.
  20. This is the table I was looking at. As it shows in the Clowes Developments accounts that were published over the weekend, CD bought Gellaw Newco 202 Limited which housed the companies named in the table. By following the numbers you can see that a substantial amount (shown in the bottom 2 rows) that unsecured non-football creditors (not HMRC as they are secured under the rules) could have claimed. It doesn't go into the specifics of whose owed what, but I presume this is where the sum mentioned by journalists and Maguire came from. Also, in further defence of Maguire he is not alone in what he has said about Morris writing off some of the debt. As for the table you produced. It is labelled as the statement of affairs in administration, which explains why these large sums are not present. This is due to them not being claimed during the administration, potentially due to whoever they are writing them off.
  21. This is what I have been trying to say, but worded much better than me.
  22. I’m not finding it hard to understand the creditors of £36 million at all. Mt point the whole time was that the 5 companies mentioned in the directors statement of affairs made up the club. The football club which had £36 million in creditors was solely the first team. The other 4 companies mentioned made up the rest of the club until DC bought it and brought it all together again.
  23. All I’ve been trying to say is that if the comment you’re talking about is the £200 million being owed to Morris, then his comment is neither 100% correct or 100% incorrect. All I’ve been trying to say is that the way the accounts and companies were dealt with has left a lot of grey areas. As someone with Maguire’s credentials and his track record across the sport, I’m inclined to believe what he has to say over an anonymous member on a forum.
  24. I haven’t looked for that. I’m sure throughout the Morris era when spoke about putting money in it was in this form. From what I have read though there are just the amounts that we were in debt. As I mentioned the amounts in the directors statement of affairs were on page 15 of the october progress report. Without saying that these were definitely the loans what else could they be? I genuinely want to know what else you think they could be @G STAR RAM?
  25. I believe the club would have had to pay 100% if HMRC requested it. Luckily though they agreed to a deal where they were guaranteed a set amount. I suppose they were of the believe that they would prefer a % of something, as opposed to 100% of nothing.
