  1. I think it's likely to be a tougher season than this season as we will lose alot of players, some through choice and some not with the EFL probably still imposing these ridiculous rules which are punishing the current regime and more importantly the fans for the misdemeanours and bad management of the Mel Morris regime. Perhaps the manager will be forced to keep players who are out of contract who he would have released under normal circumstsances because he knows his hands will still be largely tied in the financial stakes for transfer fees etc... There must be a high chance we will sell Knight and bird so we get a transfer fee before they run out of contract and will Mcgoldrick get an offer from the league above which he will find difficult to refuse after his great season , I would have thought that there must be a fairly high chance of this happening so if that nightmare does  happen where are the goals going to come from?  With all these potential factors I think it will be quite a tough season and we will likely only truly be able to return to proper normality the season after but hopefully I'm wrong and the EFL loosen the purse strings a little for us to trade effectively but looking at our past history with them is that really a likely outcome , I doubt it personally.

  2. Just behind McFarland and Todd for me and and above Stimac and McGrath. For a certain generation Mark Wright was pure class and what a world cup he had in 1990❤️, great player who should be remembered more.Great interview too, very knowledgeable on the current team.

  3. He's not a Warne type player is he, but he's so much better than Collins ......even now. We really are low on options and he's an intelligent clever player which the wingers and Knight can run off and will also win free kicks etc as he's always done??.  Comparing Collins to Martin and saying they are similar does Martin such a disservice, the ball bounced off Collins so much the other night ?. They are at different levels. Its not going to happen though, let's be honest even though I think short term it actually makes sense with our lack of alternative options at the moment.

Funny that. Everyone has different views and memories. Those early days with Nuge were great for me. He was a huge smile and breath of pout free fresh air. Time has passed now, but he was a Warne player if ever there was one. That hat trick and the whole demeanour/ body language. Loved Nuge even though he lost his touch towards the end. Cracking bloke and a real sportsman.

I agree he had a great attitude but he was way past it when Derby signed him and hardly ever looked like a scoring as I remember it but I suppose memories can fade ?. One of Lampard's worst decisions in footballing terms appeared to be when he decided to keep Nugent but release Cameron Jerome when he had been terrorizing defences at the back end of the season prior ?. Nothing wrong with hard work and honest endeavour but there has to be some end product too and I don't recall alot of that at his time at Derby. Alot of the end product and good years were seen in a Leicester shirt against us unfortunately?

Prevented chants of ‘Cox out’ as well which would have been both heartbreaking and funny at the same time.

Cox’s team will always be my Derby County, travelling all over the country watching his bunch of warriors. What a great time that was. Phil Gee through Burridge’s legs, George Williams scrapping on the goal line at Stoke, Bobby…always Bobby.

They were the days when new signings actually improved the team. Chandler to Callaghan, McClaren to Gregory, Davison to Saunders, Hindmarch to Wright, Wallington to Shilton… you could go on.

I agree. Let’s have more Cox. Something this forum manages to do on a daily basis so why not @Owen87ITK. A 5 part series is definitely called for. Didn’t Radio Derby do a big feature with him a couple for years ago? Sure they did. Remember his Wallington playing at Ipswich with a broken finger/hand story.

    Great days.

To think we were maybe just a Kubic and Knoflicek away from being a truly great side, we were already good, short-lived though?
