  1. Didn’t that guy think Sunderland have 6 or 7 players best in their position and tip them for the title? That’s crazy talk.
  2. This is why I want Dembele. Can do the 10, but equally as adept if we play a different formation.
  3. Don’t do many for football, but do like Football Cliches, Under the Cosh and Quickly Kevin. Loved a few for NFL but they’ve just killed Around the NFL which is a mad decision from the league. Waiting to see what the main presenters go and do next. Main stuff I go with is history and crime… Crimetown, Infamous America, Legends of the Old West, Buried Bones, DNA: ID, Morally Indefensible, Real Dictators, Serial, Your Own Backyard, Real Narcos, Revolutions, The Clearing

I mean they used to stone people and die of the common cold in the ancient Olympics. Just because it’s old doesn’t mean it’s good. I just think if there’s an easy path to making a living from a sport, then if they want to include it then it should be a variation that isn’t as popular. Padel is coming in so get rid of tennnis, futsal for football, longest drive for golf… sevens already done it for rugby.

See that’s another debate. Are those type of games sport? By my metric, yes. There’s no judges involved.

That’s just not a sport anyway, it’s prancing about on horses. Even the “athletes”, who can be way too old to be an athlete anyway, give all credit to the horse when they win. We could do football with judges. Like decide who wins based on who looks like they’ve played better or tried a more difficult brand of football. Maybe we could do it on xG.

Previous few posts adding credence to anything needing a judge not being a real sport.
  8. Believe Finn Delap also played for Burton. Wasn’t there myself but Rory turns up to this friendly most years. Saw Jamie Ward there last year too.
  9. Just a nonsense exercise. No fee? Sign on fees not count? CBT was a loan fee last season, not this summer. Ozoh and Yates loan fees seem completely random. Ebou was much less than that according to Dom Dietrich.
  10. He’s definitely a good signing. Just we know full well he’s not available for at least 5 games, including the first 3. That’s more games than I want Collins to start all season.
  11. We actually looked fitter than most teams, and the late goals back that up. That’s even with an older team than most, so I’d hope that would improve even further.

My Olympics hot take is that events with degrees of difficulty and judges to decide who wins aren’t really sports. Im nuking most of gymnastics because as impressive and good as it is, its an artistic performance and being able to win because you supposedly tried something more difficult, even though you didn’t do it perfectly, is better than someone who nailed something supposedly easier. It’s nonsense. Dont think football should be in it either. They should put in futsal or something similar. Rugby did it right by having sevens in it. Basketball the same, that shouldn’t be in it.
  13. Feel bad for Thommo on that promo pic
  14. It’s not good, but not quite that bad. I still wake up in cold sweats over nightmares of Conor Sammon in the Thunderbird outfit.
  15. I said after the game yesterday, having not watched it and only seen the lineup/score, that I sensed it was the last game we would be trying things and going for fitness before we got down to business. Having now watched Warne’s interview, I feel a little vindicated! Recommend those that haven’t watched it do so. It does mean though that he will get judged a bit more in the next two friendlies.
  16. Hard to say without knowing what level of training we have been doing leading up to these games. Sounded like it was a double training session midweek, for example.
  17. I sense this will be the last friendly where we are doing things to try and for minutes. We will likely get more down to business from here.
  18. Magicman uses a Dulux colour wheel to decide his opinion on players.
  19. Just don’t think you can pick a player when it’s for one attribute. He’s plenty replaceable. 29 next month, you sell if you have a reasonable offer.
  20. Yates is plenty fast enough, as is CBT, NML and Jackson. Ward has his use, but if a good offer is there, it is a position we can let go
  21. I don't think we are. Only 10 players scored 15 or more last season - 3 of those got promoted. Ipswich didn't have one, they did have 2 get 13 a piece though. I think the bigger target should be getting players to double figures. Yates can do it, can Jackson/NML get 20 between then? Potentially, or at least 15 seems realistic. CBT will likely get a couple, but not get the game time for much more. We know we're after a bit more going forward, so we can get there.
  22. It's naive to think that Musk bought it and has immediately gotten worse, and not only that, has aligned itself with his personal politics, and think it's just an an algorithmic coincidence. I have been on Twitter since 2009, I am aware of what it's been like, and I'm fully aware of what it's like now.
  23. Swap Osborn and Kenzo and that's what I want to see
  24. Current evidence shows he can't play goalkeeper though. Is he any good up front?
