It’s always interesting to read the match thread the morning after a game you have been at especially with the group of warne out at all costs kind of monopolising the forum a bit theses days ,anyway here goes my take, first and foremost a game we really needed to win for us moving forward and for b4 , we had a really good break away up the field on 37 minutes which I really felt and we were going to score from at nil nil and that would really have made my day but I know b4 would have shrugged it off fully believing we were going to go on and win anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️, I stood and put my hands together for the lad, the game , two div one teams in reasonable form on similar points going at it , both trying to play a bit of football cancel each other and themselves out with moves breaking down in congested final thirds and some poor choices and final balls , they came the closest to taking the lead with a shot of the post , not a great first half but far far far from the worst half of football I’ve ever seen as one poster describes it 🤷🏻‍♂️I never heard boos at half time but maybe I wasn’t looking for them , I did hear Paul warnes derby army ringing out from the south stand which nobody mentions so maybe the warne out number are not as some would have us believe, second half slightly better and the crowd lifted a bit , we scored and I felt we would gone on to win it from there but we gave a silly free kick away and they score , ffs , not to worry , we go up the other end and re take the lead , well done boys and we should have made it 3-1 with a great break but a last ditch tackle saved them , was a bit concerned with Bradley coming on for an injured bird but at the end of the day that can go either way with the manager carrying the can ,, today we won 🤷🏻‍♂️, wasn’t pretty , but it was everything I go to games for , emotions down , up ,down , up , edge of seat , final whistle , win , back to the car with a smile and happy , a man of simple pleasures 🤷🏻‍♂️

Truth is most clubs at all levels are on a constant rebuild apart from a few who are at a level and just tinkering to improve and those tend to have stability at the manager level, maybe chelsea and Liverpool are in a bit more of a bigger rebuild the last year or so

I wasn’t there and didn’t see it but here’s the thing , I have a choice , trust the opinion of some who watched the game and don’t miss too many games or someone who doesn’t go to games ,🤷‍♂️, no offence Roy but surely you can see how that works , I’ve been struggling to read threads lately as it’s such a downer but noticed that there quite a few who don’t even go to games wanting the manager sacked because we aren’t a good enough watch 🤷‍♂️

You might be right but I do honestly reckon there’s a bit more to it than that , our society seems to have forgotten what polarisation, intransigence and the conflict that brings actually looks like in real life , we have a ragtag bunch of dregs pulling the levers of power ( do they really ) or in line to be the next at the wheel ,certainly both here and in the USA. the wife and I were chatting last night and both agree that perhaps it’s time to stop watching the news and reading the papers again as we pretty much rarely did before covid loons came along and decided they could intrude and take control over ordinary folks lives , maybe it’s cycles with no point in us older s worrying with the young having to fall into the same traps and fall for the same cons , learn from it and shape they’re world 🤷🏻‍♂️

Have times changed that much apart from 80 odd years of relative peace for the major European countries 🤷🏻‍♂️, for me the same sentiment goes across so many subjects today as I’ve stated along net zero issues , covid ect , meet the new boss same as the old boss divide and rule , just look at our streets with the hate and lack of understanding seeping out of people , mirrored on our tv sets and in our pretend democratic Parliament , what a time to be alive ? We have had that , yours and my generation comrade 86 we’ve had the best of times to be alive
